Seems like a somewhat common problem, however just wanted to see if anyone has anything else for me to check before I take it to the dealer to (most likely) sit for a bit.

Wife was driving the truck yesterday, got out for ~2 hours, got in and powered up. Immediately met with the above error, motor temp red, battery temp right in the middle, like usual. She panicked, called, told her to drive it, was weird it happened right after turning on, after not driving for a few hours (side note, haven’t ever had any issues, was like normal on her drive previously as well).

While driving home (about 15 mins), motor temp returned to normal (right in the middle). Temp light was still on, until she got home and we turned the truck off and back on. At that point everything was as usual.

Plugged in my scanner, got no errors at all. So hooked up forscan and did pick up some errors, will attach screenshots.

Long post but just wanted to see if anyone had anything else to look at, coolant level is right in the middle where it should be. Thanks!

Known bug, happens only at startup where it is not feasible to be over temp as it has been sitting. Don't bother taking to the dealer, they can't do anything. The fix is already in the code for an upcoming update

Step 1: Check Coolant Reservoir level near driver's side frunk strut.

It does sound like momentary sensor anomaly, but make sure and check your coolant level.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Lightning concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
