I've been playing around with FORscan, following Livnitup's tutorial. I have the free 2-month extended license and the OBDLink EX USB adapter (the one recommended in the tutorial).

I just went through the process of backing-up all the as-built modules. I've been reading through the ACC/LCA mod thread, contemplating doing it at some point. However, I'm noticing 2 things:

1) I don't see some key modules listed in my truck. Most notably the IPMA (706) and PSCM (730) are absent. There might be others.
2) In the modules that I do have access to, I don't seem to have Write access to some of the addresses needed for these mods.

Any thoughts on why I have limited access? I have a '23 Pro with Max Tow and ProPower, but now Tow Tech.

have you confirmed that you have the 4 additional wires needed to perform the addition? some have said that without 'tow tech', you may not...

I don't have the 4 wires. I would have to run wires directly from the sensor to the IPMA, as others have done in the ICE F150s without 360 cameras.

So is the lack of tow-tech the reason I can't access the IPMA module in FORscan? I was wondering if there may be something else I'm doing wrong. But this would be good to know: if I'm simply unable to make the FORscan changes then no point in trying.

I can't tell you specifically if THAT is the reason why, but it kinda feels like it....

Tow Tech is probably a combination of wiring, and devices, as well as software... so, it could be...

there are others who have either purported to 'have' run the wires and installed everything successfully, or they are 'thinking' positively that they can... I'm not sure which. They may not realize what you are now realizing...

Yeah... that's what I'm thinking. I was hoping that maybe there's something I'm not doing with FORscan to "unlock" access. Thanks for the response!

Hi, you have a base 23 pro? I also have the same (no options, no wires).

what you’re saying is very strange. You should have an IPMA showing on forscan. I do. Your vehicle has an IPMA module in it. This is what houses the front facing camera in the windshield for collision warnings and lane keep assist that is standard on 23s.

I would try reconnecting everything and doing the intial scan (do not use a saved profile again) and seeing if it sees it.

upload a picture of the DTC screen that lists all the modules seen.

Thanks! I did this and now I can see all the modules. I had been loading a saved profile. Something must have been off when I saved that profile originally.

Glad it worked :)
