How much faster can the LFP charge over the 1st gen lithiums ?
In theory, max charge rate would be lower for the LFP because they handle less current than LNMH batteries (lower overall performance), however it may be the SE in reality given how cautious Ford is with the current battery charge rates, and the larger thermal mass of the bigger and heavier LFP batteries.

I like how the LFP teslas charge to 100% all the time. makes you feel like you have more range daily. they don't have the same neck snapping torque as the nickel cobalt type but I'd prefer a lightning with zero cobalt after reading about the horrid working conditions in the Congo mines.

I like the sounds of Lithium-Sulfur batteries. Fast recharge, better in cold, cobalt & nickel free, better energy density.

It seems the battery future is still too blurry to see the best solution... I hate the thought of a battery that will do worse in cold weather.

It seems like it makes more sense just to plan a battery factory without committing to the chemistry until it gets a little closer to completion since it takes a couple years. The Chemistries seem so in flux at the moment. Most of the Asian battery makers have already moved on from LFP to various LFP hybrids with things like Manganese. Do they want to start making old fashioned LFP in 2 years when CATL and others are already making super LFP+ manganese today and who knows what next year. If the news is to believed the LFP hybrids are overcoming many of the challenges of traditional LFP.

From what I have read, there isn't any real everyday advantage for customers. Isn't there less range in that SR battery unless they add more modules (weight)??
For the same amount raw materials, they could produce more batteries at lower cost. The LFP batteries also last longer (more charge cycles).

It would allow you to keep 100% soc without hurting batteries. So for end user, if you buy a SR at lower price, you should be happy.
