Pardon my ignorance - what is a (class IV) Trailer Hitch?

When a truck built/spec says (Included) "Class IV Trailer Hitch", what does it actually include? Is it just the receiver or also the ball?

Google answer - Class IV hitches used for weight distributing are rated from 12,000 to 14,000 lbs. gross trailer weight (GTW) with a maximum trailer tongue weight (TW) of 1200 to 1400 lbs. This link should answer your question, sorry I can get it to embed as a photo...as you can see the Hitch & Receiver is included as noted on our window sticker. The ball mount and trailer ball are NOT included.

Which makes sense, because there is probably thousands of different trailer heights and Ford couldn't realistically include a ball mount that could be used for any of them that someone wouldnt mess up....this matters because the trailer angle impacts the tongue weight; you want the trailer level.

Also not just used with weight distribution hitch. Without a weight distribution hitch you can tow up to 10,000 lbs. 14,000 with weight distribution hitch. I'd recommend weight distribution on anything above 5000 lbs with a 1/2 ton. It'll help with squat.
