Partial Chrome Delete

Another piece I really don’t care for is the chrome strip right under the windows.

Yea, WHAT was the thinking? That AND the chrome strip along the edge of the folding footrails.
Both will very loud once the big pieces are colored.

I never could get on board with the totally blacked out look but I’m more and more interested in a partial chrome delete.

Thanks. They are Venomrex 603s in carbon graphite. You can see the black/gunmetal difference in the fender badge. Personally I really like the gunmetal a lot more than the black .

Big fan of gun metal myself too. Looking to change my wheels, but I don’t think black would look right. I may just give these a closer look.

Yes I painted the badges, they we easy just lightly sand them. I didn’t paint the f-150 lariat part. They pop off easily with a plastic trim tool. Mirror caps were a different story.


Could you provide some insight on how to remove them and how you disassemble the emblem?

Nice! I'm considering the vr601's. What size tire are you running? rubbing issues? level kit?

275/65/20. Slight rub on the front crash bar if flexing hard. I think I can loosen the bolts on the crash bar and push if forward a tiny bit but haven’t gotten around to it. I have a 2 inch level via 5100s. go for the 601s. The quality is pretty awesome.

I did a full delete with parts from BFN Truck Shop. The guy over there communicates very well and is a general pleasure to work with. The painted parts are a good paint; I didn't find any issues or defects when prepping for ceramic coat of the parts. Would definitely buy from them again.

I received the panted mirror caps today. I’d say they are a perfect match. The quality of the paint job is as good as my truck if not better. The only downfall is that I broke my passenger side mirror popping it out. Obviously that has nothing to do with BFN. I will be ordering door handles and probably front and rear emblems next. I also pulled the chrome strip off of the running boards. Hopefully this helps you guys decide.
