My sense is that the geometric relationships between the brake and accelerator pedals is off as I too have accidently stepped on the accelerator twice. I attribute it to one-pedal driving causes you to lose muscle memory.
Another issue I have noticed is that the brake pedal is 2 inches "higher" (closer to the driver) than the accelerator pedal in its full up position. Occasionally I have had a problem quickly getting my foot on top of the brake pedal when my foot hits the side of the brake pedal. The brake pedal may be placed higher to prevent the driver from also depressing the accelerator when depressing the brake. Other vehicles also have a higher brake pedal, but it feels like an unusually high foot lift is required in the Lightning. There is definitely something unusual about the brake and accelerator geometry.

That looks a lot like my damage except I guess you clipped the fender panel too. If you don't mind my asking, what else did you end up needing replaced?
It was a lot. 16k in total. It didn’t break the charger port or the of the frunk bin. But everything else had to be replaced. Body lines aren’t as tight after the collision repair work.

This worked out fine. The shop I had already settled on - which had Tesla and Audi certification and was also one of the "Ford Network" shops recommended by the FordPass app/Ford website - was able to get the parts in a little under two weeks and beat their original deadline of 18 days to get me back the truck. Coincidentally, this was also the first shop my insurer (Progressive) recommended over the phone.

They accidentally scratched one of the new pieces of bumper trim (below the painted bumper cover) while returning the truck to me (sigh) but they will replace it again at no charge and as an interesting result of this I got to hear the shop foreman order the part on speakerphone. It sounds like there is some kind of hotline for Ford's body shop network members to get part identification help and place orders. The new trim ended up with an ETA of two business days. I'd already called the dealer where I bought my truck to check and they had a 1-2 week delivery estimate for the same part. I guess this is a real benefit to going with one of the Ford recommended shops (I still would not have used a shop without another major brand's EV and aluminum certifications, though, so I'm glad all these things came together).

Are your pedals adjustable?

Yes. They are in the full down position. The brake and accelerator pedals move in tandem, so their relative positions do not change.

Just saw this and I apologize. They had to replace all the body panels and hood. Didn’t crack the charge port or the drunk liner. Still did $16,000 worth of damage which insane. It pushed the left and right fenders up into the pillars and chipped the paint down to metal. You should see the shit job the ford garage did dabbing paint on the chips. They also didn’t get the fit and finish of the drivers side door as nicely as it should be. But I drive so much I don’t have time to be running back to get it taken care of. And I’m just going to be trading it in when the T3 gets released. I bought it April 16th,2023 and I have 30,000 miles on in as of today. So it won’t be worth shit anyway with or without the paint chips you can’t see lol. Love the truck. I live in one of the coldest climates (snow belt off the east of Lake Ontario) and I’m still loving this f*****g truck.

Was it drivable after the fender bender? Did you notice a really big hit in efficiency?

Drove it around for a month added 4,000 miles and I didn’t notice any difference in efficiency
