3.7 is the best I have seen for short distances ~5 miles or less. Usually average between 2.1 and 2.6 for everyday longer distance driving.

I went to run a few errands the other day, picking up some gardening supplies, rain barrels, etc. The route was slightly hilly, on roads with limits between 55 mph and 25 mph.
I had to make several stops that involved turning off the truck, and I only remembered to take a couple of photos. The trips were all about the same length and got the same 4.4-4.7 miles/kWh.

It's not difficult to get these efficiencies when tooling around doing errands in-town.

The only thing that confuses me is why Ford left out certain numbers on the average miles per kilowatt display.
I just don’t understand why “this trip” or trip 2 will never read 2.6, or 3.0. Today today after 40 miles of city driving I’m still teetering between 2.9, and 3.1 on both “this trip”, and “trip 2” Both on center display, and Instrument cluster, while skipping over 3.0.
It’s a small thing, but for some reason, it really annoys me that I don’t know why.
Wait until you see higher efficiency numbers. When on a trip to Death Valley with the Mustang Mach-E, we drove downhill from Dante's View (5575 feet elevation) to Furnace Creek (-190 ft elevation) at 15-30 mph for the first 10 or so miles. On the drive down, I noticed that after we get above about 6 miles/kWh, the efficiency numbers reported by the vehicle become very quantized. I only saw 12.4 mpkwh, 15.5 mpkwh, and 20.7 mpkwh. Nothing in between. This is likely due to an error in the logic used to calculate or report these numbers: A large number (km) divided by a small number (kWh) and then divided again (km to miles) can lead to this weird behavior when both of the numbers and the result are stored in a small memory register. I don't know for certain this is what's happening. Whatever is happening, it's certainly curious behavior and perhaps a programming update could fix it. I still trust the lower numbers since I've double- and triple-checked their accuracy many times while on road trips.

For the record I'm not saying posters aren't getting these high m/kwh rates with what they consider normal driving and conditions, I just do not want to mislead people that ask about EV and range is always the 1st question, with high numbers that I've never seen and numerous reviews have also reported similar poor m/kwh.

I do love the truck, but it is a put up with situation that normal consumers aren't ready to understand or want. I'm perfectly happy to enjoy major gas saving in my normal use, and I'm also accepting of the ridiculous planning required for trips further away then 200 miles round trip.

My future road trip need with my daughter going to USM in Hattiesburg MS this Fall is a case of terrible infrastructure. The route from north Alabama to USM has almost nothing once I pass Tuscaloosa. Chances are I'll leave much earlier then she and my wife in her car and plan to drive very careful and get a 90% charge in Tuscaloosa and hope for some of these amazing m/kwh numbers others see.

I won't take the truck on this trip after I move her in either. It is soo much a pain for this that if I told someone they would think I'm nuts putting up with such limits. That is the reality for a lot of users, EV are not the right option.

Apologies; I didn't realize the charging infrastructure hadn't gotten to a decent point in AL or MS- do you know if there are plans to do so / ongoing development, apart from the recent shit show w/ Tesla?

I'm in the Northeast and, for the most part from what I'm seeing, there is a pretty good amount of super chargers available with level 2 (ie chargepoints / Swtch etc) popping up all over the place on the regular. I've even seen some local companies popping up; one based out of Schenectady NY, oddly enough.

Tesla is v2, so no help in MS, the "fast" charging in MS on this route is 50kw... I'll have a 50kw at a Chevy dealership in Hattiesburg and I'm planning to try sitting at a destination tesla charger as a doctor office parking lot to get 100% before leaving and try to make Tuscaloosa.

My regular 100 mile a day commute at 53 mph is on winding coastal WA 2 lane. Sport mode, mid 40’s tire pressure w/tonneau.

Late fall through early spring SW windy-raining storms at mid 40’s interspersed with mid 30’s cold snaps, rare snow. I average 2.2-2.3 in this season.

Spring-fall the Pacific high produces afternoon NW strong winds that result in calm mornings & stout tailwinds home. Balmy weather high 50’s to high 70’s. I average 2.5-2.7 in this season.

Most of my need for cabin heat is to prevent windshield fogging as our winter humidity keeps the dew point high and the windshield fogs in a hot minute.

I just went on a 1500 mile round trip to a very rural area (southern Oregon coast) with no problem, but it depends on your area and the time that you do it. Even though some chargers in these tiny towns had only one port, we never had to wait. I routinely get 2.2 mi/kWh without really trying (now that the weather has warmed up.) I just got 2.9 mi/kWh but would have traded that away to have not been stuck in a long backup on I-5.

It looks like your route is 182 miles, are you an SR or an ER? I have done 162 miles on my SR on the freeway, from 83% to 15%, no worries. It wouldn't even cross my mind as an issue for my Kia EV6 with an effective 300 miles of range (it gives you more range than predicted, the Ford doesn't.)

It helps to charge overnight, even at a 110V plug, and of course to keep the speed on the lower end. I would also not be afraid of charging close to 100% (unless it is extremely hot), not good general practice but do what you need to do once in a while.

This is more of a F-150 thing than an infrastructure thing, it is a great truck but not a great EV for areas that are thin on chargers.

I would always try to eek out every single mi/kWh I could before we got access to the Tesla network.

Thankfully now I only try to hypermile when I want to try to set a new record and make a game out of it.

There are some pretty impressive numbers in this thread. I can't wait till efficiency and battery density improves to the point we can easily get 400 miles of range from the trucks. I would imagine that is still another 3 - 4 years out for Solid State batteries.
