3 trips. My combined weight is over 2100lbs to haul for the truck. I estimated about 900-1000lbs per yard of the dirt since it’s been dry here locally. Luckily the nursery is only a mile down the road.

With 1.22 tons I was surprised to find that the shocks still had some spring.

That looks like some serious tongue weight. Looks like mine did with 2,440 pounds in the bed. Did you check the onboard scales? Wondering what the scale said and how that would relate to tongue weight. I have wondered whether there is a calculation that could be used to infer tongue weight from the onboard scale.

When I had to get a new trailer for a 27' offshore boat, and figure out where on the trailer to put it, I took it to a scale and weighed it attached to the truck and by itself. The difference is the tongue weight. Should be about 10%.

I’ll check when I hitch up again to dump but I don’t think it was over, didn’t get the weight limit warning. Trailer is probably close to 10k tho maybe a little over.

I’m sure you know what you’re doing if you’re playing with a dump trailer, but the Class IV hitch limit is 7,000 pounds. (Edit—“without the Trailer Tow Package.” Missed that. I guess that’s for the trailer brake controller.) I’ve certainly towed more without a load distribution hitch, and that was in my Expedition. Tongue weight helps!

Been waiting for someone to comment. No. Towed it there with my diesel F350. That fifth wheel has an empty tongue weight of 2,400 lbs. would murder a 1/2 ton truck

I hauled two loads of mulch today. The scale does not give me a number, but using the divisions in the green bar, it looks like I used about 65% of the 1,673 capacity, or about 1,100 pounds. That amount of weight did not level the truck. Looks like yours is leveled or a little hood-up. I bet you have 1,000 lbs of tongue weight there. I'm surprised the truck handles that, when the bed only handles 1,673.

Went to go retrieve the snowmobiles at camp today. 75mi each way. Temp was in the mid 40s today. Rained on the trip back, heavy at times. Thankfully we have a level 2 charger in the garage up there.
