Power tailgate - add box mounted button?

Not sure exactly how one would do this, but wondering if anyone with the full power tailgate has thought about a bed-mounted button?

I know it’s first-world problems, but I find it a pain to either reach for the key buried in your pocket, or feel around for the button in the tailgate handle when closing the gate. It would be MUCH easier if there was a button inside the bed somewhere (by the bed light switch perhaps).

Question is, how could one tap into that circuit to add another switch? Is that even possible?

True, but I hate doing this when the truck is dirty. Risk of scratching the paint and getting yourself dirty.

Again, this is a minor thing, but I find it odd that Ford didn’t put a more accessible button in the bed.

This is what we do, barely lift, and tailgate takes over. I really am surprised how we've gotten spoiled with this. It's a wonder we ever survived without it!

Ive had my truck for almost year and I didn’t know it would do that. I’m going to go try that real quick.

As others have said. Bump it a few inches up and it’ll close the rest of the way. Also if you are getting back in the truck you can hit the tail gait button (next to the auto lights dial) and it will close on its own.
