Hey all,

looking to find out a bit more about how my Platinum auto high beams are working. Seems to be very cool, and will have the high beams off to the side but not in front of me if a car is ahead of me. Then turn down only the oncoming traffic one as a car approaches.

Anyone seen any demos / literature on exactly what it does when? Just interested in when it runs the oncoming, if it really is acting as I think, etc.

Thanks!

We've been adding Glare Free Headlights to our Pro, XLT, and Lariat models...is that what you're referencing?

No, on my Platinum the lights do really intelligent things at night. But there doesn’t seem to be a description anywhere about what it is they are doing. Perhaps it’s the Anti Glare? But the coolest part is that the high beams are illuminating the ditches even if I’m following another car, but clearly not blinding the guy ahead of me in his rear view mirror.

Not sure, but I will say the aiming headlights in turns, the auto high beams, the auto wipers. This stuff is so cool, I never knew this tech existed but it's frankly been working great for me.

You're describing exactly how anti-glare works. They are enabled from the factory in Canada but not the USA.

That is called Glare Free. They are described in the manual. There are a few threads here on how we activate them in the US and YouTube has videos on how they work at night.

Yes, it's called Anti-Glare. You can toggle it in settings/lights. My Pro now does the same thing. It is really cool.

Ok this is it! Finally, the right wording of "Glare Free" and I can find stuff on it :)

Also, not sure how my 2018 F150 goes from having an "auto highbeam" setting that was totally useless and never did the right thing, to this which seems to be nearly perfect from what I can tell.

Thanks!
