Hey guys. A few weeks ago I mentioned that my truck lights were on in the middle of the night and my neighbor texted me at 11pm.

This happend again but with a bit more detail. I was out of town for a week and my neighbor said at 615am on the 11th my truck lights were on. ( light bar, rear lights, headlights) So she walked over and she said she heard the fans running. She was concearned as she knew I was out of town so she checked to see if it was locked and it was. I checked my camera and sure enough it happen just like she said.

Could this have been an update? I thought it was preconditioning as it happened during my normal time slot but the truck was unplugged. I'm gonna check with the dealer to see if any codes popped up again.

Last time this happened I got a alarm trigger error message on ford pass.

If it were an update, you should have received a notification in FordPass.
Double check the departure time schedule, do you allow it to operate while unplugged?
Is your second key in a location in the house close enough that it might be triggering the trucks welcome mode?

My first thought was the known headlight switch bug. Depending on your build date, it may or may not be relevant. But that would t explain the fans running.

feels more like the 'Departure' conditioning setting, with a scheduled 'day of the week' time to precondition before leaving for work, etc.
I've had several of these in my 'scheduled' timeframes and forgot about them until I also heard the truck running, or saw the lights on, for no 'apparent' reason, at the time...

Wouldn't the truck need to be plugged in? Also I checked other days at the same time. No activity.

One thing is the keys were just past the garage. It's just strange that the fans were running.

My deep winter operation is, when I want to keep the battery warm for a longer trip where performance/longevity is important, I set the departure time for about a half hour prior to when I'm actually going to leave. Once the cycle ends, about ~15 minutes later the truck goes back to a light sleep condition, battery is happy and when I get in the truck, and start it normally, the heated steering wheel works instantly. I'd love for the developers to eliminate this bug so that preconditioning / departing timing doesn't need to be gamed in such a way.
