It's OK. I thought the dialog on some of the transitions was a bit stilted (esp. The transit and Mach-e).

Ford has done better.

I really dig Ford's direction here.

More importantly, I think it is a very smart business decision. Ford has decided to electrify the classics so they can ride the wave of nostalgia and repeat customers. There are many that are brand loyalists..esp if they had good experience with a previous model. Bring them into the fray, as well as new people to the brand. It also saves on development cost.

That is a very different path forward to what everyone else is doing. Hyundai/kia, GM, Tesla, vw, etc-- all of them are developing NEW EV models. I guess we will see if it works out long term, but makes sense to me.

Ford has already committed to a n Electric Explorer and hinted at an electric Bronco. Would not be surprised to see them use Lightning tech to develop an Expedition Electric.

PS-- I think the Explorer Electric if done correctly is gonna sell like hotcakes...

I completely agree that an electric Explorer will sell very well. If Ford was introducing an electric Expedition, I would be buying it over the F-150. My problem with SUVs has been the lack of storage. My wife's Honda Odyssey has more room and storage than an Expedition. She refuses to consider an Expedition/Suburban/Sequoia until it gets better gas mileage and has more storage. Problem solved with the frunk! I for one hope to replace her minivan with the all electric Expedition as soon as it comes out. (I may grab the Explorer if she feels like it has enough room.)

I'm extremely excited for my Lightning, but an electric Bronco is what I really want. Almost went for a new one, but I just don't like the idea of burning gas while driving through nature. Excited to charge off solar and then go off road with a lesser impact.

The optimal solution for me is an awd electric minivan. I have older dogs who can no longer hop into an SUV anymore and the low load floor/sliding door is a godsend. I live in upstate NY so AWD is preferred. It looks like the only one on the drawing board is the VW Buzz(bus?) but VW has been developing that for so long my faith is fading. Then there is the reliability issue...

Toyota Sienna Prime(awd phev) could be an option if Toyota get on the ball. I may have to suck it up as well and get my wife an explorer EV.

But yes..the explorer already sells well..add an EV into the mix and it'll be like printing money at the FoMoCo.
