They come with stainless steel pins and self lubricaing bushings, maintenance says if they get noisy power wash the joints then silicone spray.I've had them on 2 trucks. After 3 or 4 years, if you dont lubricate the pivit pins, they will start to rust and bind with dirt. Especially if you live in a salt applying state. If you don't clean them out, the pins get pitted enough than you have to order new pins and take everything apart to replace them.
I loved my AMP steps. May still install a set. But they aren't without their issues.
I just wash mine when I wash my truck and I've never had a noisy or sticky joint. I've been putting them on my trucks since 2016. I do always upgrade to larger mud flaps on my trucks, that could be the difference.
The best thing I like about them is how far out they reach and split the distance between the ground and door sill.
