I recently enabled Securialert on my truck and every time the door is opened it sends the notification to my phone, which is awesome! But it happens every time I open the door, myself, even if the engine was started by the Keyfob. Has anyone figured out how to configure the service so that, it doesnt alert you if the Keyfob is nearby? or maybe if it was unlocked within a few seconds, or at least if the truck is on?

I couldn't find a lot of support documentation on this feature but the press release makes it sound like that is the expected behavior. You only turn it on in the app when you want it and then turn it off in the app before getting in your car. It is not an always-on feature.

How SecuriAlert works

Owners activate SecuriAlert when they are away from their vehicle. The feature is quickly and easily switched on or off – “armed” or “disarmed” – using the FordPass smartphone app. 3

Once active, it makes use of the vehicle's existing sensors to identify if an attempt is being made to enter the vehicle. Using the onboard modem, FordPass Connect, the car will immediately send a push notification to the owner's smartphone if it detects any activity involving their vehicle.

The FordPass app reveals the time and reason for any SecuriAlert alarms – via the smartphone – as well as the vehicle's last known location.

If an attempt is made to open a door using a key – an action that would not trigger a conventional vehicle alarm – SecuriAlert will still send an alert. This can be particularly useful in identifying attempts to access to a car using a cloned or stolen key.

When the owner returns to their vehicle – to drive to work in the morning, for example – they simply disarm SecuriAlert via the FordPass app and continue on their journey.

you’d think at the very least it wouldn’t alert if the phone was currently or recently connected to the vehicle. But it sends a notification if you open the door while the truck is running? And your phone is in the car?

Great concept but again it was not tested before putting out to the public. Turning on and off all the time is a hassle but there is a scheduler where you can set up the days and times for it to be active but it doesn't follow a schedule...you must still turn it on or off yourself if you want it to be active. Also, can't schedule a time frame from 11pm to any AM times, must start at 12am to cover any AM times.

Yeah it notifies you after you drive, park and open the door. Which I guess would tell you if a car thief parked somewhere so thats cool

I just imagine someone having sync read them the notification that they just opened their door. Makes me chuckle.
