yessir. When it is 90 degrees with 90% humidity on Christmas and you're a personal vinegar factory, your vehicles need tint like your body needs water.

That only works until I drive home and get pulled over Not worth the ticket. For non-driving heat, I just depend on my windshield screen (l put only 15k miles on my '17 in 4.5 years if that tells you how much I drive it). It would look cool for consistency, but for privacy it's not an issue (as I also use the full vehicle kit for the sun screens when it's parked at home).

I love the look, but I was surprised that people to it. I've never seen a car around here that has it (or maybe I've never noticed?)

Probably 30% of the cars in JAX have the complete front windshield tinted.

I'm surprised since you're further south that it would be a problem down there.

Like I said, maybe I've never noticed it. I see a lot of cars with the strip across the top. I'll now be on the look out for full windshield. It's tempting to do it.

Dumb question: What's the factory VLT in the rear and back windows?

Late to the party here. My truck is build week 2/13. In Texas any film on the front windshield has to be clear (or at least 90% VLT, based on reading ads about what tinters can apply). Was wondering if TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejected) figures are available for the Lightning windows as the truck rolls off the assembly line? Even better if VLT and ILT figures for each type of window were available as something like 53% of interior heating comes from ILT and 44% from VLT (and 3% from UV). So, if one knew the transmission figures for each type of window per factory-install, one would know how to take advantage of whatever screening already comes from the factory "tint" in the rear side windows and the rear back window without overdoing the tint/screening in the applied film (or does a good third-party tinter already know what it takes to do a legal job on a Lightning?). Or is the factory rear "tint" pretty crappy to begin with? (Have never owned an F-150 and have always let Honda dealers tint our cars without asking specifics).

My final question of ignorance is why a lot of folks here prefer XPEL? There is a 3M detailer not too far from where I live, the neighbors say good things about the place, and the 3M ceramic and crystalline films sound pretty good - are links allowed on this forum? If so, I could post a link to the detailer's virtual window view that gives you an idea of what your car will look like with any particular 3M film - but again, the virtual viewer doesn't take into account "tint" already on the rear windows. Folks ought to get sophisticated and take that into account.

I have 50% tint on my front windshield and added 25% on all other windows. Front window visibility is fine at night while the others are pretty tough.

Also having the issue of the sensor activating my headlights during the day. I have the screen on dark mode, so that isn't an issue. I know Toyota/Lexus allows you to adjust the sensitivity, but haven't found it for the Ford. Looks like the only way might be through ForSCAN?
