I have a sloped driveway. I thought it was just rolling back upon putting it in park because they want to make it familiar to the Bubbas of the world who have always had ICE F150s. Nope, it appears it's really rolling back onto it's parking pawl like an ICE truck. I already started using the parking brake to keep it from doing that, but I'd just as soon the truck put in the EPB itself when I put it in park.

Anyway, learned something today.

Munro wants to get rid of the pawl, but I do not like the idea. I do not trust an auto parking brake and I believe that there are regulations requiring a mechanical restraint like the pawl. I also have a sloped driveway and do not think the removal of the parking pawl is a good idea.

Ideally, I'd like to have both as a fail-safe.

I can say also that when my wife's in the truck she does not like it rolling back, which is why I started manually applying the parking brake.

I also have a steep driveway and wholeheartedly agree with Bob and Mij. Redundant systems with different failure modes For the Save.

Attached are my 1000 words' worth of opinion about the importance of redundancy for safety.
