I would set the SOC to 60%-70% and leave it plugged in. For 8 days, anything from 30%-80% not plugged in would be fine too. Don't forget to turn off departure times.

Nope. It’s gonna charge up per your programming and sit. No drama at all, really.
Not necessarily. I left for 10 days, plugged in, with my max charge set to 80% on my FCSP, which was established as my home charger. I received an OTA update while away, and the truck deleted all of my charge settings. It therefore charged to 100%, in triple digit heat, and kept it there for for 8 days because nobody was there to drain the battery. If I leave it again for more than a day or two, I’m turning off OTA updates.

I knew someone was gonna say this. I as much as anyone know what happens with OTA BS. You're obviously not familiar with my raging pissed rant thread from two weeks ago.

Dear @FordMotorCompany
I saw your post while out of town. Decided to check my truck through the app, and sure enough, it was sitting at 100%. I knew immediately what happened. Leave it to @FordMotorCompany to send out OTA updates that can actually damage the vehicle. If it weren't for your post, trev5150, I would have spent a bit of time trying to figure out what went wrong, so thanks for pointing it out!

just picked my Larat this week. It arrived at the dealer Jun2 28th, but due to the lightbar safety recall the dealer couldn't release it to me until the part came. With 100% charge it sat in the back of the dealers parking lot for 6 weeks until Sept 12th and had 96% charge when I picked it up. Dealer had NOT charged it during that time. That during 15 days or so with heat index over 105.

Left mine for 25 days, and it lost only 1 or 2%

The use of the words "actually damage the vehicle" are unfounded. You could charge the truck every day, with DC fast charging, to 100%, and the truck would still be covered under warranty for 8 years / 100,000 miles to be 70% capacity or higher.

Is it ideal to be at 100% for an extended period of time? No. Will sitting for a few weeks at 100% "damage the vehicle". No. Will it maybe make a tiny, tiny, unable to be detected difference in battery life? Maybe.
