So I just picked up a MY22 Lariat off the lot (for sticker price I might add)! I am brand new to owning an EV, not new to owning a pickup truck. Used mostly for HVAC work. While I wish I spent more time learning all of the cool features of this truck before owning it, I unfortunately had to spend my time figuring out what was going on with my wave 4 invite back in February (truck now on chip hold), how the ordering process works, how the dealership side of things work, etc.

Is a faint buzzing sound in the cab while the ignition is on normal?

Feel free to add any tips for a new EV owner below!

Oh boy, there are so many possible little sounds and people have different hearing ability but...

Yes, with HVAC off and nothing running except the car, I do hear a very faint noise. I'm not sure I would describe it as a buzz and it's not objectionable to me. In fact, the truck is so quiet when it's on with the doors closed that it's almost unnerving to me (easily solved by driving/radio/whatever).

When you first step on the brake pedal after letting the truck sit for a while (overnight for example), do you hear the whir of an electric motor followed by a POP noise that can be felt in the brake pedal? (But only the first time the pedal is pressed, repeated pressing just causes the little whir sound to repeat but not the POP.) This is something I'm trying to track down now. It might be normal, but it doesn't sound great.

Will let you know in the morning. From what I read, i believe the below 20mph sound comes from the reverse speaker. Dont think I will remove any of those noises, rather it be safer.

Also interested to know more about this. Is it always present while the car is on? Coil whine type sounds bother me to no end.

I just went out and sat in the truck with HVAC/radio off, but with the truck on.

Honestly, I hear nothing, maybe the slightest bit of something that sounds like a small computer fan. Sometimes, something that sounds like a pump makes an additional sound. I assume it's the pump related to the coolant system and it's louder outside the truck. It doesn't run all the time, at least while parked.

When the truck is drive the pedestrian warning sound is on even if your at stop while in drive this is a fan kinda sound and I think it persists up to I wanna say 20 mph. Hard to tell that's the purpose of it bc it's so faint

Would it be possible for someone to record this? I wonder if it's one of the displays, or something transmitted through the HVAC tunnel.
