Truck Icon Hell: Every Color BUT My Truck?!

My sense of aesthetics and brand of OCD is triggered every time my display(s) show me a truck icon that isn’t Star White - the color of my truck.

Perhaps the reaction wouldn’t be so bad if @Ford Motor Company didn’t beat me over the head with so many images of trucks, of differing colors, none of which are the color of my truck.

• the accessory mode overhead (dash - Ford blue)

• driver assist mode (dash - blue?)

• tire pressure/pitch/seat belts/power distribution (dash - blue?)

• the exit “trip summary” screen (dash - black? )

• the “drive mode” settings screen (console - very Ford blue)

• the 360° camera overhead (console - grey!?

• IBP (console - black again!? Or is this grey!?)

Then, as if specifically to mess with my emotions, Ford does give me (but also everyone one else) one icon in my truck’s color ….

… (and no, @Ford Motor Company im not giving you credit for these “ghosted” versions!:

….. only to really mess with my OCD by mixing-and-matching….

…. and then later in the day taking it back! ….

(Even these!?! I wasn’t giving credit but I am giving demerits!

)

If you dig around enough, you can even find new shades of never-before-seen blue!

And even a game where I don’t get to be a TRUCK, and my truck is an obstacle/bad guy!?

but we all know perhaps the worst offender of all…

that damn start-up animation. If I have to watch that every day of my Ford-owning life, at least be a rendering of MY truck

c’mon @Ford Motor Company you’re killing me here with all the icons, in every color of the blue-grey rainbow BUT my truck’s color

please, please add these animations/icons in the various colors for which you offer the truck, selectable under ‘settings’

(or, just tell me where in settings I’ve missed it?)

I'm with you. It just shows the lack of cohesiveness across their software teams and how there is no commonality.

There is no reason that every time a truck picture is used on every one of those screens they don't just call a common API - lookup this truck color code from stored settings, display truck color that matches the one for this particular truck.

I’m surprised this thread hasn’t focused on the inconsistent depiction of the twin panel moon roof.

What about the PRO hate and XLT hate with these graphics? This is a much more significant problem that paint colors.

The signature lighting is featured in every one of thes graphics. And why do all of the trucks have Platinum wheels.? Come on Ford, your graphic designers should have anticipated I would have put a crossbody toolbox in the bed and should have provided that as a display option too.

Tesla uses a common software trait so the car icon color remains the same on every screen, and is your car's actual color. I had all white Teslas and found it very distracting at night for the larger icons, so asked service to switch them to black for me, which they did with a software switch that worked fine.

You're definitely not alone. This should be 100% customizable. One of my few complaints

Tesla now has a colorizer - you can pick any color you want, just in case you had it wrapped.
