Went to visit the Birthplace

Was cool to see the Rouge Electric factory and surrounding infrastructure of this historic area. Wish there was more of a visitor's center for the EV side. Years ago I took a tour of the ICE F150 factory through the Ford Museum which was pretty cool, though.

It would have been nice if early buyers had a factory tour or helped with a build.

Nice pictures, that Lightning looks right at home. I toured parts of the Henry Ford museum and hope to make it back some day.

My granddad started off after WW I as a Model T mechanic at a small 'Ford Garage' in Nebraska. He wrenched until about 1958. When I was a little kid, he used to tell me that, 'Mr. Ford puts dirt, water, and coal in one end of The Rouge and a day later Ford cars come out the other end.' I took it a little bit too literally back then, but he wasn't far from being right. River Rouge was an amazing operation back in its heyday and probably still is. The YouTube algorithm fed me this Ford Motion Picture Laboratories video the other day and I really enjoyed it.
