I have had my truck for 5 weeks and still no word on when it will be here.
Its been in the shop for 8 days now because of a faulty passenger door handle that no one can figure out. I was hoping the safe would come and they could install it while it was there

I ordered direct from Console Vault and added the updated combo. I highly recommend the new lock if it comes back in stock. I wound up ordering direct, because I had just ordered one as a Christmas present to myself and in January the magic email from Ford showed up. I tried to return it, but that was a no go. They did offer 20% off so I got it from them instead of adding to truck. Install is super easy.

My thought on the subject: This key is to be kept in our wallets and used to lock the glove or backseat from the valet/mechanic/etc. Remember, some won't have our fobs when we get our "Phone as key" activated!

Feel like I’m missing something. This physical key, which fits the glove box, the center console, and - presumably - the spare tire release: what are people doing with it?

Specifically, the “head” on this key is an unusual shape that makes me think I’m missing something - especially as it has no hole with which to attach it to a standard key chain ring.

Can that start the car in case of emergency because my phone is a key fob and I got stranded high and dry?

I never used fob because my phone as a key worked for over a year and a half, but when it failed, it was catastrophic.

even after re-keying the phone I still cannot use it as the key anymore. Headed to Dealer this week.
