Where are we going?
In 2030 we would need around 4.1 million charging stations. (Level 2&3) This is a rough estimate based on supporting government requirements for number of electric vehicles per CAFE standards.

In 2023 there were 126,500 level 2 charging ports. As of April 2024, there are 9,742 Level 3 charging locations in the U.S with 41,220 connector ports. Please note that these figures are estimates.

my brother-in-law has a jacked up F250 Diesel Superduty





and, a 70 gallon diesel tank, with pump, in the bed...

I have had some similar frustration with lack of maintenance at charging stations. It would really be nice if charging stations had a network of electrical mechanics, if you will, to go out and repair the stations as soon as they go down, similar to Wells Fargo or other banks have with ATMs

They do, but like much of industry these days, service capacity is out of balance relative to demand.
