Wireless CarPlay won't engage

We have two F150 lightnings.
My PRO works just fine on wireless CarPlay 99.9% of the time.
it just works.
But it will not work on my wife's XLT.
I've been through all kinds of menus, resetting the phone, redoing the CarPlay, resetting the infotainment screen. And I still cannot get it to work. This picture shows what my truck looks like with Wireless app projection enabled.

But on her truck, this is what I get, and I cannot turn that button on.

does anyone have an idea of how to get that wireless projection to enable?

My car play stops working 3-5 times a month. Some times its auto will not work, some time it will not connect at all.

The quick fix I have is to power cycle the wifi on the phone. Reconnecting to the truck enables it to start up again.

I don't recall ever seeing the projection option.

Sometime my would not reconnect. I had to reboot my phone and then it would work.

Got the lariat and it stop working a week ago. I was not able to make it work wirelessly. It worked using the cable tho

We have done all those things.
the truck 🛻 just won't turn on that wireless projection.
guess it may need a software update at the dealer.
The BT and modem all work. And CarPlay works with the cord. So what the heck ?

I‘ve noticed over the last two years that most of my CarPlay connection issues are related to my phone not connecting to my truck’s WiFi. Manually initiating a connection to my truck’s WiFi generally solves the problem (making a tethered connection or rebooting Sync are only my last resort fix’s).

My biggest issue is the loss of audio from Spotify after CarPlay starts…the music/podcast plays, but there is no audio. Restarting the app on the phone or rebooting Sync usually does not help…. I have to reboot my phone or shutdown/restart my truck to get volume control to return. This behavior seems to run randomly in spurts….very frustrating

occasionally my pro does that but I just turn off wireless car play on the truck's phone menu and then turn it back on.
My wifes truck however wont even project its Wifi. Maybe we have a bad module.
