Thought I would post a bit about our last trip from KY to TX because there were several revelations.
I have been inactive here on the Forum for the past few months because that trip turned out to be such as disaster. After driving to Memphis we found the EA Charger was completely out of service. Thanks to Auto Nation Ford Memphis we were able to Level 2 charge for a few hours and make it to the next EA at Forrest City AR.
There we found a Tesla sitting dead in one of the stalls. The guy had borrowed it, went too far, and had no adapter for the EA. I carry an adapter for the Pro Power 30a/240v outlet to my Ford Mobile Charger so I hooked it up to his Tesla for two hours (he did have THAT adapter). I told him to drive slow to the Tesla Super Charger 25 miles in Brinkley, AR but he took off like a jack rabbit. Found him dead again in a few more miles and jumped him once again and then followed him to his charger. Nice guy but EV-Clueless (still now a "Friend" on FB).
The rest of the trip got worse because my wife had a heart attack in Baytown, TX, died on an operating table while they were inserting a "routine" heart stent, and I had to drive 1,000 miles home alone. Not a good last few months, needless to say.
But I did want to share the enjoyment of saving that Tesla and urge others to get the right adapters to carry in your frunk. And always keep some extra electrons in your battery just in case because you cannot totally believe the EA, Chargepoint, or even the Plugshare Apps.
