Pardon my ignorance, but is this ordering bank opening to all reservation holders?
We don’t know yet. I have a theory about how it might work, but I’m speculating so won’t go there. Hopefully they handle it better than Bronco orders.

I’m sincerely hoping they ramp up production like pronto. My van’s front passenger side window decided not to work today—a relatively inexpensive fix, but I’ve told myself this will be the last repair like a dozen times and this is the last straw. C’mon Ford!!!!!

I’ve replaced three assemblies on my Escape in the last year. Easy self-repair. Just know that when one goes the other three won’t be far behind.

I tried emailing my dealer here in Bellingham WA and also further south in Burlington this AM; not response yet. Doesn't seem like a lot of WA folks on this forum. I'd be fine driving down to Oregon, maybe Idaho.

I'm going to rent an F150 before Oct 26 to get a feel for the thing.

Losi, do you have a Ford van? My Transit driver side window won't auto roll up since about 6 months into ownership. I never bothered to have it fixed. Took the door apart and never figured out if the switch is busted or its somehow triggering the safety that keeps you from closing a window on your arm (but that in my case causes the window to keep stopping every few inches). Van has been great otherwise.

thanks, I wasn’t aware of that list. I called the two most reputable dealerships and they both quoted at least a $6k markup for the Lightning, possibly more. One guy said they apply that to most vehicles but for the Bronco it was $10k…at that point I decided to look elsewhere.
Nice another Hawaii person!
Funny I had my reservation for Windward but was told by their rep all their cars have markup, called Honolulu a few months ago and rep said no markup on machE, changed my reservation to them a day ago, glad to see that was a good choice.

We are not sure. At one point someone from Ford said they were going to open it in waves based on reservation order, but we have heard nothing else on that.

I’ve looked at the Transit—the electric version seems like a good option for shuttling a large family around.

I have a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. It’s strange the emotional attachments people can make with their vehicles. I call my van Betsy and I thank her just about every day for getting us to places safely and my kids think I’m crazy. It’s been through a lot—11 years and 145k miles of hauling the family around several states (we’re in the Army and have relocated quite a bit). I’m starting to think Betsy is getting jealous with my Lightning lustfest. I absolutely hate to put her down but lately it’s one thing after another…after another….

cool, I’ve checked that car out quite a bit online just for fun—I’d never fit in it though. I found Honolulu to be less than transparent in their communication but I’m glad they’re working for you.

The eTransit that Ford is pushing now is strictly a commercial van. Only 2 seats and a wall between seats and cargo area.

What happens to the reservations that people just ignore and don't turn into an order ahead of me? Are they given time to decide to order before they move on to the next people in line?

I purchased my Bronco from John Holstein. They were incredible and kept their word on the pricing through the Bronco 6G site. I drove 4 hours to get to them because of the great price they offered.

They are doing the same with the Lightning I believe. This is the letter I received from John right after I placed my Lightning order.

We are offering to sell a 2022 Ford F150 Lightning for $500 above factory invoice. There are no
gimmicks, no hidden fees, no upselling without the customer’s approval. We will show you the
factory invoice when it becomes available and the build summary which shows the pricing, after
the order is placed.
We are transparent. Everything we do in regards to the reservation process will be an
open-book. It’s truly the only proper way to conduct business. We know it, our customers know
it.
The Plan.

Here’s a few advantages concerning “The Plan“. We’ll be answering questions and providing a
Q&A FAQ sheet concerning “The Plan“:
• Centrally located in the “mid Atlantic region”.
• Our price is only $500 above FACTORY INVOICE. No gimmicks.
• There will be no “hidden fees”. You’ll know before you get here, exactly what to expect.
• We will offer additions to your new ride, such as extended warranties, accessories, etc. but
none of that will be mandatory or pre-installed without your approval.
• We’re working to provide bonded and insured shippers for every vehicle (if the customer wants
to go that route) and we’ll work with the customer’s choice of shipper if the customer wants to
take care of shipping on their own.
• Everything pertaining to the purchase will be “above board” prior to your commitment to our
dealership as the receiver of your reservation.
• We’re working on trade-ins and the possibility of getting your trade-in appraisal completed prior
to arrival at our facility.

Ford F-150 Lightning October 26 is apparently NOT when 2022 F-150 Lightning ordering begins (order bank opens) {filename}

Thanks for posting this - I live in Frederick Maryland and have selected Hagerstown Ford as my dealer. If I see any kind of a mark-up on the Lightning which exceeds Stephens Auto Center I'll call to move my order. Hope Hagerstown Ford is viewing this thread...

If it works like the Bronco, there's an order window. For Bronco, it was ~2 months.

So, the people who are invited to order within that window aren't really penalized or rewarded for when they order within that window.

So, if someone just reserved yesterday, but they order the very first second the order window opens, and someone who reserved the first minute of the debut event orders the last second of the order window, the person with the early reservation still takes precedent... as long as he orders within the same order window.

That's my understanding, anyway. Date of order within a single order window is not substantially meaningful. Basically, there's no rush to be the first person to order within the order window.

For what it is worth, my dealer just e-mailed me an confirmed the Oct. 26th date.
So your dealer contacted you about a week after the October 26th date became public. I am using this as a guideline on how good my dealer is. I have contacted my dealer's rep multiple times since May 19th after my reservation for up to date info. He always says "Let me know if there is anything you need". I always say "Let me know the minute you have specific details on when the order window opens and how the process works so I can have my deposit ready". To date he has not contacted me. That is concerning for me and as more time goes by a reason to change dealers.

This sounds good unless what I read in another recent thread is actually true - that on the Lightning Ford is making the invoice equal to the MSRP. Lots of dealers will order Lightnings for MSRP. Here is the thread post and a comment from another forum member verifying that post:

“For a dealer offering $500 over invoice, it's my understanding that with the mach-e invoice = MSRP and it is expected to be this way on the lightning. So $500 over invoice may also be $500 over MSRP. If the dealer tells you they wont make money selling at invoice, this is a lie as the dealer gets a percentage of invoice back from Ford no matter what price they sell the vehicle for.
Correct, on Lightning MSRP = Invoice. This was communicated to us about a week ago.”
