This thread is not serving it’s intended purpose lol
It totally is! The purpose is to expose those people perpetually on the precipice of cancellation of the hallowed F150 Lightning, the vehicle for which ownership of was their sole purpose in life and in some cases; their birthright.

There are two camps, those who want to pay the Tesla/Chevy Saturn no-haggle price and those who want to buy the Extended Range Pro model, even though Ford effectively told them to fuck off and spend ~$25K more for the ER XLT, since the only purpose of the Pro is to have a low starting price.

They think that having tantrums in a Ford truck specific forum and acting like a Karen is going to magically change their situation. Even though they're being given sound advice and experiences from other members who have a wide range of opinions when it comes to Ford Motor Company.

As a fun game, in some of these posts; while you're reading replace 'F-150 Lightning' with 'Crack' as in 'Crack-is-Whack.' So that these
Lightning fiends seem less annoying and more entertaining.

You nailed it. One more observation: The Pro ER crowd will stomp their feet instead of taking the SR battery, losing 50 miles. I wonder if they scream at the Toyota salesman because the gas tank on the car they want is slightly too small.

Or that their (Toyota) halo hybrid truck doesn't come with the same features as the Powerboost because their customers (focus group) said they weren't interested.

Life is full of examples that you can't always have what you want. You CAN rant or pitch one of course, but it won't get you Pro Power Onboard your Toyota. Or a fleet vehicle from Ford.

I have given feedback to a few Ford marketing agents at the car shows that I have been to since the lightning reveal. I wouldn't say 'stomping feet' but I made it known that I was somewhat frustrated with having to spend 50% more to be able to get the extended range battery. That is a big jump. At the State Fair of Texas, the person I spoke with actually made notes on their phone and said that they do give feedback to Ford. Hopefully if Ford has enough customers speaking up, they will change the availability. More than likely I will be buying the standard range with either the pro or XLT trim. However, if it was available, the pro trim with the extended range battery would be my first choice.

Lol, they took that note to calm you down, not to pass it on to Ford.

I cancelled because I can't get seats that lay flat and massage me with noise cancelling sound system in a Pro ER trim. I need those options because if I paid a house payment for a truck I would have to live in it and cancel out the sound of my wife screaming at me for a divorce. Also ER range to live (park) 50 miles away from my current rental.

I don't know why its so hard to get everyone else in the country to fund my needs and Ford won't take me seriously. I mean they made the base Ford Focus Electric a Titanium trim level with power heated seats so why wouldn't the same be true for the Lightning?

Thank you I needed this thread this week.

Oh wait I mean...f* Ford and their BS I'm cancelling. I'll make them regret not allowing me to order exactly what I want even though I currently don't know that I actually can't order that.
I know that feel. It’s so stupid that you can’t get exactly what you want but you need to pay the full price and settle for some useless/garbage/ugly things on your truck that you just don’t want. I got a few on mine

That is the right thing to do, as is not actually canceling your order over it (in a way). I am a believer in voting with your wallet, but in this case that isn't going to even make a dent in Ford's perception of the Lightning's success. While we only have reservations and not orders, if Ford converts even 20% of reservations, they are still covered for the first couple years, and that is with existing captive audience and not even counting those that would choose to buy it later that are holding out for them to be on the lot to check out before buying.

Ford is set, it would take something huge like only converting 5% of reservations to orders for them to take any notice, and it's unlikely that 95% of reservation holders were expecting to buy a LR Pro. What will work is telling Ford reps, despite the negative comments above. I know Ford reviews those comments, they review them even at the employee only events they do. It would be hilariously stupid of them not to as it is free market research, something they spend millions on already.

Ford hasn't survived for over 100 years by ignoring public demands. Anyone that thinks Ford doesn't listen and react to customer wants is a fool at this point, even in the last couple years they have changed the packaging for the Bronco to get the manual and Sasquatch packages together due to customer feedback. (https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a34094734/ford-bronco-manual-transmission-sasquatch/)

They have also pushed harder on the Mach E charging curve and even the Maverick has seen some changes in how ordering and dealer stock was handled (frustrating some admittedly) so that dealers could get some Mavericks in stock, sometimes ahead of those that had reservations, but that was in response to complaints by Mach E customers that they couldn't see the car anywhere at any dealer before they ordered. So Ford changed it so that at least the larger dealers/markets had a few Mavericks in stock. This impacted the speed that some reservation holders got theirs, but you can't make everyone happy and personally I think that was the right move for customers in general.

Ford absolutely listens. So keep telling them you want the LR Pro. Just maybe avoid the threat part of it, like canceling the reservation, because Ford has no way to know you would actually convert the order anyway, so they have a huge line of others that might and the threat will distract from the real goal.

I’ll be documenting my cancellation experience in a five-part YouTube series.

  1. “Why I might cancel my F-150 Lightning Reservation.”
  2. “Lightning or Cybertruck: Which Reservation Should I Cancel?”
  3. “Top 10 things I hate about my F-150 Lightning reservation.”
  4. “You won’t believe what Ford’s CEO said about Elon Musk!”

And

5. “Why I kept my Lightning reservation. Watch to find out!”

I was being 10,000% sarcastic. I'm still waiting to see where the options lie once we get a build tool available. I know what things for me are a must have vs a nice to have and at what price point. I also know the things that I would like to pressure Ford to make available but also know that I am one out of hundreds of thousands of customers. Ford sells millions of vehicles a year and even one individual dealership isn't going to ever 'regret' not being able to sell a vehicle to one troublesome customer.

Hopefully you have already monetized your channel and make enough from the videos to buy both trucks.
