Is there a catch to the app on the iPhone? I can see all the interactive features and at the bottom in blue it says click to view in space with google app. Clicking that link just brings me to the app store. I already have the google app installed? I can't seem to get it to let me take a picture with the truck. What am I messing up?

Never completes for me...
So I figured out it works on my phone if I open in Chrome. I normally use FireFox and it doesn't work there.

Yeah I think we hugged the site to death. Surprising given Google's involvement.
I just see this, which is the same QR code I couldn't open earlier (Chrome, FF, doesn't matter-- but I am on a Mac). I tried my wife's iPhone and it does notice the QR code but when I click it, it says it couldn't load, redirecting.

EDIT: 4 QR code websites later, I pulled this; https://qrco.de/bcJvhn

Making this gadget unavailable on an iPhone or iPad fits this truck rollout perfectly.

Theoretically it won't increase the profit made either. Ford knows they will sell them all so they can build x% of each trim regardless of orders as they know they will have a buyer for every one they produce. Ford could decide to only build platinum trim for the first year and they would still sell them all. Now, Ford has said they will build the whole trim line from the beginning so I don't think they will do that, but we don't know what percentage they will do.
They haven't given final pricing, yet, so yes, if they raise the final pricing based on a bigger tax credit (resulting in a similar or lower final cost to consumer), then Ford makes more profit.

Yeah, there are other ways to increase profit, like ONLY selling Platinums, but if the tax credit goes up, they can make more money without increasing the final cost to the consumer, and it's a win-win for everyone, basically.

If they say, sorry everybody, we're only selling Platinums for the first year, they're going to have a LOT of upset reservation holders.

The site is still working perfectly on my iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 15.0.2.

Well the app was a few minutes of good fun at least.

Although... They kind of overlooked something in the back seat!

Ok today the app worked. For anyone still trying to get it to work, you're not really going to learn anything you don't know, except the differences between the look of the different trims. Pro hasn't got zone lightning and painted plastics. XLT and up do. The tailgate on the Lariat and Platinum looks better.

Also, the Pro and XLT do not come with a center seat back, though there is a magic head rest that levitates in the air. Oh, that might be a bug.

I agree that more interesting colors would be great. I am not sure I would ever classify a tan as an interesting color though. Better than a shade of grey though.

Unfortunately my iPhone went for a swim so it's this old S8. My iPad is too old.

I'm wondering what to search for in the Play Store-- it *must* be there, I don't have the option to install apps from other sources turned on.
There are Android QR code readers in the Google Play store that you can use to read newer QR's, bar codes, etc. that the camera app itself doesn't scan. There are many such apps to choose from.

The Alternate Reality presentation is not an app of its own, it uses the device's browser and native functionality. My wife and I both have the same model older Samsungs and viewing the AR link works on hers but not on mine. YMMV.
