March 31 Lightning Invites Expiring?

Any idea of what will happen when those who had reservations and got invited to order during the waves but did not place orders by the March 31 deadline? Wonder if there is one "final" chance for MY 22 invites?

Just wondering if these open offers to order will just go away or be reoffered to next in line. As a May 19 in the first 30 minutes reservation holder, I would love that. Wil probably be waiting for a MY 23 though.

I was in today changing the color on one of my reservation orders and the GM asked me what I was going to do with my other reservation invite to order. I told him it was for my father and I had extended the reservation, because he wanted to try to get a Pro, but they were sold out. He said that they only had four allocations. He said that he had to make some calls. I’m guessing there’s someone who’s going to luck out at that dealership and get a late invite. This was just this afternoon.

If you've been invited to order but can't or won't order by the 31st, and you want to keep your preferred place in line for the MY23 order window, you need to go to your ordering site and select "extend my reservation" no later than 11:59 PM tomorrow (probably Eastern Time?). I'm pretty sure those who were invited but didn't interact with Ford in any way will simply be dropped and their $100 refunded.

Is this Ford policy or your expectation?

I would move the hangers on to the end of the reservation line if they have not overtly selected the EXTEND function by the deadline, taking a moment to extend shows certainty they are still interested and would preserve preferential order time stamp.

Those who do nothing should be pushed to back of the line, letting other reservationists a grab at the brass ring.. JMHO!

I'm still debating if I will convert to an order. I was hoping to have the vehicle by summer to replace a lease vehicle expiring but obviously had to find something else as the lightning will not be here in time. Really struggling to order with a $500 non refundable deposit and see what happens or let it go. Was really excited for the truck when it was announced.

Just what I think makes the most sense. I have no direct-from-Ford knowledge. Moving non-extended reservations to the end of the list makes sense, too. It even keeps those $100 deposits in Ford's accounts earning interest until such time as the reservation holder asks for it back. So maybe that's what they'll do. Either way, it moves the rest of us up the list.

I hope this isn't true. I got a Wave 4 invite, talked to my dealer and they said Pro trims were still available to them (even though they showed as sold out online). I selected order through dealer and went in to place my order, only to be told Pro wasn't available. XLT SR was, and I almost processed an order for an XLT , which was also weird because Pro/XLT SR both showed as sold out when I was invited...anyway, I decided to punt to MY23, but my dealer & ford could not figure out how to revert back to a non-dealer order to give me an option to extend. Both were apologetic since my dealer said Pro was available but I had to select them to process the order. In the end the only solution was to keep my order unfulfilled through the dealer, and allegedly I can order a MY23 when ordering opens...who knows.

I just hope I still have some sore of reservation. If not, oh well.

I guess just watch the credit card you used at reservation time for the $100 credit. IF it doesn't show up, then I guess you're still good?

It's too late now, but if it was still March 31st I'd say to quickly call Ford and ask them to revert you back to an online order from their end (if they can) so you can extend the reservation.

Yeah good idea on the credit card. My online ford account still says ordering with dealer as of today.

I went through alot of back & forth with ford & the dealer to revert me back to an online order - there was no way to do it (according to what I was told). The dealer seemed confident leaving it open would work...we'll see.
