Edit to add: Blend date was also May 12 (pic received June 17). Nice to get this one - they do it for Broncos, too, but mine got missed (they send an email saying sorry we missed yours).

Weird, mine is from a much lower angle than the rest of yours.

Also, I'm sure it's less about the early adopters vs the trucks that are going to made later.

Just got the same email. It was at the dealer on June 6th and I am already over 1,000 miles.

Glad to finally be seeing more Atlas Blue in the real world. It's been a Carbonized Gray/Antimatter Blue/White world for far too long!

I view this as a positive -- a humorous one given how late they are -- but at least they have the systems and process and mindset to do this for customers. Now they can get them more and more real-time. It wasn't that long ago that custom orders were a very, very rare breed in the US. Now they're going to be the majority of sales within a few years. So I'll cut them some slack if it means they're learning and trying.

For what it's worth, when Tesla first released the Model S in 2012, I was completely in the dark until about 2 weeks before, when I was asked to complete all the paperwork.

Cool idea. I'm sure they'll get it closer to real-time as time goes by.

My guess is that this is part of an artificial intelligence/machine learning–based automated quality control process.

Look at all the cameras on the opposite wall. Probably also some 3D scanners as well checking panel joins, etc.

Great that Ford is sending these emails to folks that already have their trucks. With my "5/23" build (built 6/2) on a CHIP HOLD they probably don't want to send me a picture of it in a Dearborn office park with the frunk open.
