I just received my production picture for my Pro trim. The Ice Blue silver looks great but I really wish I could color match the lower bumper. Any thoughts on how I could make it appear similar to the higher trims? Vinyl wrap? I don’t think painting the plastic is practical right?

My two cents: given the recent post with someone's paint peeling off their Lariat grille, I think us Pro users have a big advantage having just a black plastic grille and front bumper; one less place the paint can chip from rocks and debris.

My ICE F-150 always had rocks wedged in the radiator fins, and the paint job was pock marked with places a stone had hit it. Disadvantage of a large flat surface on front. Long term, I am banking on the black trim aging better versus trying to paint or wrap it and having a damaged surface showing.

I was thinking more color matching the bottom piece/lip (not the grille itself). I hear ya on the rock chips though but I think it flows a lot better colored on the bottom

Yes it likely can be painted.

I'm okay with the black bumpers but would like to do something with the grille, probably look into painting it to match.

The bumpers are metal or plastic?

I wish they had a color matched vinyl wrap

I got a darker color because of this. I am going to leave mine as is. I dont mind it at all. The door handles bother me more.

I did the same thing. I figured the dark gray would blend in better with the black plastic.

My pro comes with a color matching bumper…I got black.

it was the primary driver for picking that color, otherwise I wanted the carbonized gray but wouldn’t have been able to live with the black trim.

The best long term approach here is to go to a body shop and get it painted in official colors. A good shop will be able to prep it appropriately. I’ve had similar plastic trim pieces painted in the past.

That's why I went with Carbonized grey metallic. the black will blend better. I plan to temporarily plastidip the wheels in black and see how I like the look until i find good aftermarket set.

But do note that I'm on the same page as you with my Pro.. i played around with Photoshop and would love to have the bumpers and grill color matched if it won't peel off.

you can just have it painted to match any higher trim - it is the same piece. Give the body shop a pic of my truck and say "do this". While they are at it they can paint the mirror caps and door handles body color, and redo the frunk cover in glass black. You'll have a stealth Platinum.

I guess matching the color on the textured plastic concerns me. They’d have to prep it well I assume?

It shouldn't really concern you. Take it to a reputable shop, you can even ask your dealer if they have a partner shop or they may even have their own body shop.

Think of it this way, how do you think the bumpers come when someone gets in an accident? When ordered as parts most don't come painted A reputable shop will be able to prep, prime, and paint it with Ford paint codes and even color match for any fade.

It's actually quite cheap and easy. Just don't go to Maaco.

Oh I guess I sort of ignorantly thought that the black plastic material was a different material than the rest of the painted parts. If it’s just unpainted essentially, then what you’re saying makes sense!
