Who supplies dealer options? I always figured the dealer's parts department did.

My salesperson is telling me I can't change the dealer options because I have been scheduled for 8/15. I think she is wrong.

Anyone have good info on how dealer installed options work?

I want to change from a bed tray to a bed mat.

Thanks

Smaller issue, with no blend date or window sticker, is she even correct about no order changes?

Dealer installed options that are part of the order (as opposed to purchased “after market“ through the Parts Department) are part of the truck - assuming that they appear on the vehicles’s monroney sticker. Assuming that your accessories are part of the vehicle order itself, then Ford’s rules will prevail. For accessories that are ordered as part of the vehicle, depending upon the manufacture, the parts will either be shipped with the vehicle or separately to the parts department for installation when the vehicle comes in.

I can confirm those options are shipped with the truck from Ford factory because mine arrived wrapped up in plastic sitting inside the cab today. Wasn't exactly "installed" by the dealer but took me 2 minutes to do it myself.

I think this ends up being how proactive your dealer is.

I saw some folks who had scheduled build weeks get their color changed by their dealer ... I asked mine about it and they said once you get a build date you can no longer edit the order

Should be possible, especially not an addon on not integral to the truck. But some dealers just don't want to do it.
