also, I noticed a number at the top of the window sticker that's not clear to me, but, then again, maybe it's the number of the 'produced vehicles' for the Lightning...meaning the 8,441st 2022 F150 Lightning truck to be produced. Sounds about right.

120220729 BLEND 8441

and also at the bottom, in a combined string:

This number recirculates from 8000 to 8999 as each truck is scheduled for blend days, it's not a cumulative value

o.k., so that 1,000 trucks per circulation/reset, I suppose used as a 'body/chassis' reference number as it goes down the line toward blend/mating...

I have seen people warn against sharing VIN numbers online. Why is that? Seems to me you can walk up to any car and get its VIN number.
Yeah I've never understood it either. To each his own though.
I’ve had a dealer use it against me on a warranty claim to say my car was modified.

How an ECU reader that integrates with the Infotainment screen to tell me temperature readings and boost levels causes a differential to shred itself and deposit metal shavings in a differential…not a clue. But that same thing also caused a shifter cable to come loose.

The next closest dealer was an hour away and had no issues with fixing both of those under warranty. After that I just got into the habit of not posting my VIN

I really don’t understand what your dealer was able to do with your vin number. If you are taking you vehicle to them surely they have your vin number.

Since I had it registered and posted on the forums I was on, they tied it back to my posts which included my interests in modifying the car. There were certainly posts where I asked about ECU tuning, turning up the boosts, replacing downpipes, exhausts, etc.

The only modification actually made to the car, which they also found was my participation in a group buy for OBDII reader that would then relay and display the information on the factory display. The information included boost pressure, temperatures, and other performance information (It was a long time ago but basically this: https://www.jegs.com/i/Auto-Meter/105/DL1410U/10002/-1)

It ended up being a very unproductive argument with that particular dealer as they were also on the forums and printed out my posts as "proof the car is modified" and stated as such is not eligible for warranty work. They would have been happy to work on my car, but it would be out of pocket because of the modifications.

Since then, I just have a preference not to be associated with my VIN on public forums. I don't have an issue with sharing it - and have via PM even on here, it just left a bad enough impression that I don't want it associated with me in case I say something stupid, and I'm pretty sure I say a lot of stupid.

All I can say is WOW. Someone at that dealer does not like you.

Nope, not sure what I did to them. I special ordered the car, paid MSRP. And it was my first time in service. It was too long ago to remember but maybe I gave them a 4.99 instead of a 5 on their survey or something.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I never did find out who from the dealer was on the forums. Maybe I got in an online pissing match with him w/o realizing it.

Ah that makes sense. It is not that someone can do something just with a vin number, but I guess having it tied to you does open some doors for problems.

that Canada tracking site is nice. Matches what I've seen elsewhere. I also got a note from my dealership the other day saying the truck was built. i modified my order from the original post on the order tracker and added max tow. Website says in production as of 7/26

I could not get the Canada site to work for me. It would not accept my order number. Is there a trick?

On rare occasion it might return to the input screen without giving you results, that condition usually remedies in a few days. If you've never been able to make it work, might be something wonky about your browser settings.

I was looking today at the module build data. I do have a tear tag, but see that there are some on the first page that show empty slots. Does anyone know if the completed truck has a code for every slot? Is this truck waiting for a bit more?
