Glad to help out!

I also ordered one for my wife’s Mach-E, but it’s a different design and pin out. I hope to do that one this weekend.

I got my Gamin Dash Cam Mini 2 installed today with the Dongar mirror adapter. You can't even see the camera or adapter when I got everything in place!

For those thinking of installing the adapter, it is easier to plug the adapter into the mirror first, then plug the rest of it together second.

Awesome post and thanks for sharing the adapter. I just wish Ford let us use all the amazing built-in cameras Like I can on our Tesla.

Totally agree… and if they do I’ll be glad to rip this out. 😀

It's got four wheels - Waiting on my '22 Lightning
Install was very straightforward. Took all of 10 mins to get everything installed and aligned with the Garmin app.

That is slick. I will order mine tomorrow. Just installed my dash cam last week. Mine has a rear-facing camera as well so (fingers crossed) hopefully this will work for that too.

Thank you for this little gadget.

That is awesome! Thanks for posting that. I am surprised that that supplies enough power to run both a dash cam and the mirror.

So I am assuming this only provides power when the car is on.....correct? Did you do a rear facing camera as well with different power?

This thread is gonna cost me allot when my truck finally comes

I believe it just taps the 12v directly before it enters the mirror, not to mention the camera doesn't use that much power.

And yes, you are correct that it only supplies power when the truck is on. I didn't do a rear facing camera as I was just looking for a cheap/simple setup that would at least protect me if someone pulls out in front of me or tries to back into my truck for an insurance scam. I'm hoping we can ditch it in the future and use the truck cameras to just record to a USB drive, but I'm not holding my breath for that feature to come.

I have bought the Rove R3 dash cam (not installed yet). It has a rear facing camera, but the rear camera connects to the front unit and gets power from there.

So you could use the adapter to power both then just run the one wire to the back in the trim?

Correct for the dash cam I have. Rear camera has a single cable that connects it to the main camera in front.

Has anyone relocated the front plate? I tried my F250 plate holder with zip ties and fits pretty good but blocks a some or the intake. What do you guys think?

Your photo shows it where my dealer put it - upside down and blocking the vents. It belongs just below the frunk lip - with the frunk open, you can see the dimples in the black trim strip where the bracket screws/rivets go.

Edit: Looking at your photo again, it looks like your dealer drilled the top of the bumper (just below the black trim strip). I would put it back and call it a day.

Without the license plate bracket (or with it in the wrong place), the part that bumps into a wall or parking bollard is the front camera and/or Ford logo.

Just got mine fixed today - plate relocated and lower bumper trim replaced.
