That is certainly the case with mine.
Ok so that’s a real bummer for me. Not that I can’t accomplish most of what I want with a regular 110v outlet, but the 12v somewhere in center console or similarly “tucked” away somewhere makes for a very clean install of accessories. Disappointing to say the least.

Yes, I miss having a 12v outlet on the dash. I am using an extension cable from the 12 v outlet at the back of the center console to run my radar detector until I can get it hardwired.

Aaahhh, while I don't see how the engineers couldn't make a 12V work in the 7.2kW powerboosts, at least now we know that it is specific to the 7.2kW.

Still looking for any volunteers to plug their phone into the center stack and center console USB ports and determine whether they try to connect as data, or only charge, and what the charge rate is (if you know how to do this).

Where is your desire to wire it to out of curiosity? The mirror? My current thinking is modding for a 12V outlet inside the console as 1st choice, and figuring out what's there behind the wireless charger (king ranch) for modding is 2nd choice but I tend to store a few things there.

I can only imagine what that discussion was like with the design team. I think it’s a bad call on Ford’s part. However, I own absolutely nothing that cannot be plugged into a USB port. I doubt I would ever use it. If I just have to have one, I can use the one in the back seat.

I'm going to have my friend who owns a detailing and car electronics shop do a hardwire to a switched location on the fuse panel using the Valentine 1 hardwire kit.

Interested in what option you find. If something easy, I’d be interested to add one to center console AND even back to the regular in dash location (and I’d try to relocate the fuse reset to secondary glovebox or somewhere like that).

Ok hang on a sec there. I had also thought that I saw some powerboost trucks had a 12V, but the powerboost owners on another thread all said they only had the breaker reset and a 120V AC plug.

Is this a pic directly from your Lariat powerboost? Because if it is, this whole world just got really confusing.... I don't know why some trucks would have a 12V and others do not.

My Lariat PB 7.2kw, no 12v in front, just a 120v ac plug and breaker.
