Our truck (@LightningMcQueenAlbany is my better half) is off the train and awaiting transit. He called United Road and sounds like tomorrow may be the day it'll be shipped, hopefully.
And there's now another Lightning sitting in Portland coming down as well, so it looks like #1 and #2 to the Ford dealer in Albany are coming at the same time. We better be the first through QC at the dealer!

Forgive me if you got this question before, but i just thought to as since you are Oregon..

Can you connect the EV to the charger yourself? One time i almost pumped my own gas driving thru there and the dude almost had a panic attack.

Yes, we can pump our own electrons. If you want to make gas attendants jump if they're going too slowly, just grab the pump. I pulled up to a station at 2 am on a very cold December night, I could see the attendants arguing inside about who was going to go outside in the cold and rain. I got out and grabbed the pump, one guy got on the loud speaker that I couldn't pump my own gas and the other guy came running.

I also asked a friend who was a police officer what the fine was for pumping your own gas. He had no idea and said he'd need to look it up and he'd never written a ticket for it before.

Many stations don't have enough attendants and when the lines are long and the attendants take too long, I'll grab the pump myself and do it. I'm not waiting around for someone to do the job that I can do quicker and more conveniently myself.

In Oregon, it’s not the bureaucrats, it’s the politicians who refuse to change the law…dispite many recent attempts…something about job losses and concerns for the physicaly challenged (I expect the other 48 states have found ways to address this important issue).

The law was modified to allow self-service in counties with lower population counts because station owners couldn’t find workers to work 24 hrs/day (people couldn’t get gas at night with the stations closed)…..so, the “safety” argument has gone away.

Because if we let the general population pump their own gas there will be gas station explosions on every corner and people will spill gas all over their car.

The number of times I've had to clean gas spilled on my car by careless attendants is too numerous to count.

The current push is about jobs. WE NEED TO KEEP PAYING PEOPLE to keep them employed... So bring back the farriers and telephone operators while you're at it. We need more blacksmiths too...

It truly is bureaucracy run amok, but it's slowly being chipped away at. Counties with less than 20k people can pump their own after 6pm and on weekends. There are a couple hoops to jump through, but it's slowly getting better...

And during COVID we could pump our own gas... which was completely stupid and counter intuitive... Highly contagious virus, so instead of one person touching the pump you now have hundreds...

It's on CNR, so no automated tracking. I expect it to be transferred to UP, so I'm calling that number 2-8 times a day hoping it give me an update. Right now there are two railcars with the same digits, both unloaded long ago. My car is TTGX988151.

You can track - UP has the status. 1-800-877-5123. Press 1 for English, then say Trace when promted. Right now you are just loaded. Not sure you are moving yet. Origin is Flat Rock, MI, which is different if I recall than mine was.

OOOH. I just reloaded the page and saw that the status changed this morning from waiting to "InRoute". Truck isn't showing as moving, but it's a step in the right direction!!!!!!!!

Have you checked today? Seems UP could have been way screwed up and not giving you updates. Yesterday it said Flat Rock (our tracking gave us updates all the way back to Dearborn.)

The UP tracking for your car doesn't seem like it was working.

That rail car just unloaded in Kirby - your truck should be on the ground.

That rail car is in EMPTY as of today at 1:20PM currently at Kirby TX and destined Laredo, TX on Sept 4.
