My salesman at my dealership just confirmed that the VVR for my truck indicates chip hold as well.
Some aren't really chip holds but are popping up that way I think. My truck has all its modules according to the module tracker. Who knows at this point. I doubt they are popping chips in the trucks at Area 51 in Flat Rock. It is a train terminal and parking lot. That's it.

I am currently on hold with Ford chat one last time for the day....waiting for an agent and I will post my results.

Here is another agent...at least the ETA and location have been consistent, but now the ETA is when it will receive the chip. 5 agents, 5 different answers:

So today is vacation and it is just too hot to me outside for doing much. From Ford Chat, I just got an ETA from Area 51 to Cuero Tx of 23-Sep to 29-Sep. I'm guessing Rail to San Antonio, then car carrier to dealer appx 90 miles away.

In case you want to read more about chip holds while we are all waiting., check this out: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/chip-hold-defined.11097/

Most interesting part was that the parts are assigned to a VIN. So in case on does not show, or does not pass QA, it's not as simple as just taking the one from the truck that is about the get built the next day. That would explains why some are on in chip hold, and others are not. More details in the actual thread.

Anyone got their chargers shipped yet? Mine just arrived!

Few observations that you might already know...
- This charger is big! 12x20!
- Max current can be set in steps. 12, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 64, 80. That way you can prevent a costly panel upgrade if you running out of capacity.
- Depending on where you mount it, you might need a plan on how to store the cable. Thick, sturdy, long.

This may be a dumb question, but how did you get a charger if you haven't yet technically taken delivery / purchased your truck?

Nothing new to add to the intel on delays. BUT my dealer Skyline Ford in Salem, OR called me (proactively) to let me know the status of my Lariat ER was on chip hold delay. Chad there honestly shared, that any ETA he might provide really wouldn't be accurate. He'd even seen trucks on "chip hold" that would show up at their intended dealers a few days later. (Though no one believes that is the case.) Bottom line, still practicing patience. I appreciate the great service.

Total valid question. I had SunRun give me an estimate for the installation. Their goal was to have it installed by the time the truck shows up, though they already sent the charger. You have to pay for the charger if you cancel the truck order.

It was tricky to agree on a location that would work through a fully remote process so I decided to cancel the installation with SunRun and will do it with a local company instead. Nothing bad to say about SunRun, they were helpful, professional and even canceling was quick and easy.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, thank you!

I had Sunrun call me about 3x a day for pretty much the entire month of August. I always ignored the calls, and they never left a voicemail, but I can imagine why they were reaching out.

For some reason I haven't heard from them in the last week. Not sure why ignoring call 78 was any more effective than ignoring call 77 , but I'm glad they're leaving me alone now.

I just heard from my dealer that my truck hasn't hit Massachusetts yet, so it's unlikely they'll make the delivery window of having it here by the tenth. A little sad, but as I still haven't decided if I'm going to buy this personally or run it through our business probably not that bad. Hopefully it'll be here by next week!

So at one point you will need to answer one of those calls, maybe wait for call 83? Sunrun is who will mail you the FCSP charger after you take delivery, not Ford. They will want to confirm your mailing address and phone number.

I already have a Nema 14-50 plug installed in the garage. So i'm ready to start with the mobile charger that is in the frunk.

I asked how much to install the charger when I confirmed shipping address. Finally the 3rd person I was passed to answered questions. Yes there is a sales side of the call but it is super low pressure and based on my experience if you say no, they stop. How much was I personally told? It starts at approximately $1,200 and goes from there. it all depends on capacity in panel(s), the service from the pole to your panel, what is the current load on the panel, what charge speed you want, do you need a subpanel, what are your local building codes, cosmic radiation, the outer space alien tech in truck, etc.

Do you have to commit to sunrun solar, using them as an installer, home integration system? No, and after you say that, they seem to go quietly away. I do have my contact's name, in case the FCSP doesn't show up.

Okay now I feel a little stupid. Where did you learn SunRun is the distributer? I must have missed this somewhere in the order process; I assumed they only need to be involved if you wanted to use the "preferred installer" for the whole home backup system.

Would have been nice if they left a voicemail one of those 78 times...

Thanks for the info though!

Neither of the Shop Ford tracking sites are working today for me. Anyone else have any success?

Here is my chat update.
Ford F-150 Lightning ✅ 8/22 Lightning Build Week Group 1662573094092

As you can see, the ETA that these chat agents give are worthless. How can an ETA of the 2nd - 9th be logical if the truck in on hold in the factory.

BTW - the Canadian track site just worked for the first time today
