Does anyone know how to resolve this? The car was driving normally. I pulled into a parking spot and as soon as I exited the vehicular, it started beeping and flashing.

The P on the shifter is blinking, and when I power on the car, I get a message that the shift system has a fault.

Did you put the parking brake, confirm it's in park, then switch it off and hop out?

Give it a minute, then hop back in and see if you still have an issue.

I saw something like this when I opened the door when it was in motion and it got all hot and bothered... But there were no long lasting effects.

The parking brake is set. I was able to power off the car, hop out, let it sit for half an hour. The issue persisted.

I keep getting messages that the transmission is not in park. It’s in park, although the park indicator is flashing in the shifter

I’m also not able to put the car in neutral for it to be towed.

emergency tow is greyed out in the settings. Any ideas?

Alright, so last update for the night.

I called ford and they sent a tow truck. the tow truck driver and I figured out a way to get the car in neutral.

I found that when I pressed the brake pedal, held the parking brake down, and then released the brake pedal without releasing the parking break, the car would roll. so we were able to roll the car out of the parking spot, and onto a flat bed.

the car has been towed to a ford dealership. and I will call them in the morning and inform of them of the situation.

Sounds like a complete reset could solve the problem as it looks like software issue. Ford better provide a way to reset.

I'm betting on a 12V battery issue.

It seems like 12v is the answer to EVERYTHING as of late....

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your F-150 alert concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

I actually disconnected the negative battery terminal to see if that would resolve the issue. No luck

Did you tighten the positive terminal and check the voltage? Some have shipped with a loose positive clamp that causes the truck to throw errors.

I did not loosen or tighten the positive terminal, although I did verify that it was clamped securely.

Yet another reason to get rid of the physical shifter. And maybe give us physical control of HVAC.

Honestly I agree. The shifter does not need to be there, it feels kinda cheap, and it’s a new point that can immobilize the car.
