3.8 According to some publications, I am assuming there is no update that made the truck faster. It would be nice if we had an options to throttle back a bit of power for more range.

I feel like an eco mode is missing which would throttle the motors slightly. I wonder if they have plans for new modes. I saw the comments on twitter with the same concern as F150Rod for towing, but doesn't towing mode do that already? I am assuming that F150Rod is not talking about towing mode but a dedicated eco mode... However, shouldn't a great user experience just work... I.e. How hard you step on the gas pedal will define economics.. .just like any old pre-1990 vehicle...

Yes, I am talking about a non-towing mode. However, you can always just modulate the accelerator to get better range or just slow down. Hard to do though when the truck begs you to just punch it :ROFLMAO:

I know what you mean... The only thing I worry about is that torque on the truck over years of punching it for fun... With my solar as free gas these days, I honestly could not care less about the economics of it ;)

Doesn't that just happen by not applying your foot quite as heavy?

I don't recall what the advertised or clocked 0 to 60 was 3 months ago. Does this mean there is a SW release coming that they are going to release a little more torque/power from the motors?

It specifically says it is "now under" which indicates that it wasn't previously, so something has changed.

Yeah, that was my question. We know there is a SW release for PAAK rolling out. Not sure if it has performance enhancements as well. It does seem as though there was a reason Farley posted it. However, if it was due to an update wouldn't he have said something to that affect and claimed some credit for SW releases, etc... Who knows...

What is the SR ?
SR = Standard Range
ER = Extended Range

I knew it had to faster than originally advertised!

LOL, reread that post and realized it was a different question! One that I share as well. How damn quick is the Standard Range?

Either MT had one with new software or it’s always been under 4?

There's a lot to like about this "lesser" Lightning. For starters, the Lariat is quicker than the loaded Platinum. The F-150 Lightning Lariat zips from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and on through the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds at 106.9 mph, while the Platinum's bests were 4.0 seconds to 60 mph and 12.7 seconds at 105.9 mph. That makes the F-150 Lightning Lariat the quickest F-150 we've ever tested and the third-quickest pickup we've ever tested, just behind the 2022 Rivian R1T (3.1 seconds, 11.6 seconds at 110.8 mph) and 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup (3.0 seconds, 11.7 seconds at 105.4 mph).

I mean what is the 0-60 for the SR?
Yeah, good question. I haven't seen any scientific, actual testing of the SR. I've seen a couple videos where they say it's 3.9-4.0, but I'd be interested to see someone with decent equipment (like a VBOX) do it on a known-flat road (the one that went 3.9s is speculated to have been slightly downhill).

Either way, I bet it's VERY close to the ER. It probably has the same horsepower up to 40-50 mph and on top of that, it's substantially lighter. After 60mph, the ER will walk away, but to 60mph, the SR will be very close. I wouldn't even be surprised if it's quicker to 40 or 50 or 60mph.
