If you punch your truck its going to cost a bunch to repair the dents or broken glass.

you may even hurt your hand. The you will have to pay both medical and damage repair deductibles and your rates will go up.

It would be nice if we had an options to throttle back a bit of power for more range.

More horsepower is the side effect of greater range. Both the SR and ER trucks have identical motors. The ER produces more HP as a result of the increased number of electrons available at any given instant.
perhaps a controller could be installed to restrict the instant use of too many electrons. Or maybe that controller already exists in the form of something shaped like a right foot.
