Drove 300km today in -1 used 0% of the battery using heat. But I was able to keep the cab at 25-27
Was sure amazing in 4 hours of travel I used 3$ of diesel
Was hauling empty trailer half way then a sxs home
Still uses battery for exterior temp but it wasnt for heating the battery so not sure.

If you look at the car scanner you will se the heat at 50 ish deg but using 0kwh

Good data.

Respectfully, may I suggest to keep all your diesel heater posts in the same thread?

Hi.
I'm having this done to my Lightning, only going with a gasoline glycol heater by Espar.

Any thoughts on sizing/BTU output from your experience? Cold prairie conditions, just like you.

I have a quote on a 7500 BTU/2 kW unit, but I want to be sure that's going to be enough.

Thanks for your input.

I think mine is 8,000 and it's descustingly hot. I tried running the pump in series and parallel and series is way better. The heater core is labeled in and out. They way I have mine set up is the fluid leaves the heater core and directly into my webasto intake. than the fluid reconnects back to the hose I cut.

Apparently it does throw engine codes. And may void any heater core warranty

Until they figure out how to keep batteries from losing so much in the cold, Ford should offer this as an 'Extreme weather package.' Then they could integrate it into the truck UI and guarantee things like it's not burning stuff while not moving (to avoid CO issues).

What kinds of codes is it throwing? Are you picking those up with an an app and OBD scanner of your own or the dealer said something?

It's cabin overtemp and no just the dealership told me there were a few errors. FYI don't run your truck without the frunk tub in place the truck freaks out. It must use the 120v plugs for something.
