Departure and comfort not working

Mine is working. Only issue I seem to be having is that the heated steering wheel won't work after pre-conditioning. Works other times though.

Same. I find the Lightnings heated steering wheel pretty weak to begin with, compared to my wife's vehicle.

I would think that 'pre conditioning' has nothing to do with whether the vehicle is plugged in or not... pre conditioning is to turn on either heat or air conditioning, etc., to get it ready for you to use, comfortably, but not so much for the 'battery' conditioning... and should work just the same to 'pre condition' the cab for when you leave work, etc., when the truck would not be plugged in.

I think Tesla uses 'pre-conditioning' for the BATTERY when it knows you are close to arriving at a SUPERCHARGER, for better battery charging... which might be confused with 'cab' pre conditioning.

noticed this morning that the steering wheel heat doesn't activate even though the light is on. The seats were nice and warm, but the wheel was not. It does work if you manually activate it, so there's certainly an issue there. First world problems.

While setting up departure times make sure you selected cool, medium or warm features, if that doesn't work try, going to settings, remote start, adjust these selections to on and auto. & 15 minutes, maybe remote start and departure use same settings.

I set mine up last week, and this morning (and I think one other day) I came out to drive and the truck had not done any pre-conditioning. Double checked my settings in truck and they were correct, but it just didn't do it. Will continue monitoring but thought I'd check here too. Thanks

Good thing too. Preconditioning in cold weather definitely helps efficiency -- at least that has been our experience with Tesla. Simply driving off with a cold battery impacts range more than anything else. So being able to pre-condition when not plugged in is huge.

There might be a rules conflict that we can't detect, might have occurred in the midst of the recent power-ups. I deleted the pre-conditioning requirements in both the app and truck, then re-input my specifications while in the truck. Then let those settings sync to the mothership, and then refreshed to the app and tweaked the rule about allowing to precondition while unplugged.

Definitely no power-up last night, and I'm not sure what rule would conflict with a Tuesday morning. But I get your point (thanks) that there's all kinds of possibilities particularly within software that could have caused a conflict or error that prevented the start up this morning. Will keep watching, bur reliability of this feature is increasingly important as we head into winter.

I still have days without heating for no reason. Seems to work about 90% of the time. Undoubtedly a software issue with app or Sync.
