I did end up accepting it, they did repair a surface scuff along the box. I am happy and it is a nice truck.

Received the call from the dealer today that the truck has finally arrived (1/23/2023). As mentioned in a previous post, we won't be taking delivery, unfortunately. Hope y'all enjoy your trucks and I'll hopefully join the club in the coming years.

Similar for me, took delivery on 31st and got sunrun address confirmation email on the 4th.
Got my Ford Charge Station Pro EVSE delivered, and a site survey schedules, so thought I would share the whole timeline for that process:

: Took Lightning ER Delivery on December 31st.
:: I visited the SunRun site and provided reservation number and personal information to register to get the Ford Charge Station Pro EVSE. I had been attempting to register with SunRun for months, but my res num was never valid. The SunRun sign up process started working when I placed my order or perhaps when the truck was built and I finally had a valid VIN number for the truck... Anyway:
: Jan 4th - Got email from SunRun to confirm my shipping address, supplied earlier per above reservation.
: Jan 12th - Got email confirming shipping of Charge Station Pro via FedEx.
: Jan 16th - FedEx was out for delivery, but I redirected it for signature pickup, was not going to be home.
: Jan 17th - Picked up from local Walgreens FedEx location, signature was requited.
: Jan 23rd - Got a call from SunRun to confirm I had received the EVSE & asked about my installation intentions, I asked for a free site survey.
:: Since SunRun does not directly service our PNW Washington region, they contract with other installers from the region.
: Jan 27th - got call from "Washington Generators" and a confirmation email from SunRun for a free Feb 1st site survey.

I am probably not going to install the FCSP just yet. I already have a networked 42A EVSE which is plenty for my at home needs. I already have a 12kW Solar system which uses a "Line Tap" (connects before my panels main breaker) and only does net metering only back feeding. That is to say I have no storage, and am not setup to easily add storage such that the PV could still produce power in an islanding (grid forming) mode during a grid power outage. None of this really matters for the Home Power Backup that the Charge Station Pro can provide. But I would need a "mains disconnect interlock" or smart grid bridge or whatever it's called, the same thing that a normal methane or gas generator would require. If/When I do eventually add the FCSP I would probably also want to add stationary storage and fix up the PV inverters so they can be used in an islanding mode. That sort of solution is more likely to become cheaper and better in the future, so I will most likely wait. But I do very much appreciate the FCSP, and might wire it up on a new circuit just so that I can leverage the 80Amps it can dish out.

Alright @balucipher. It pains me to say that you are the last truck not delivered from the 11/14 group. Any updates since you last posted?
It actually got delivered about 2 weeks ago. Without the tax credit, I was hesitant on it I asked the dealer for my deposit back and they listed it for sale for 10k over MSRP.

I have not searched the forum yet, but though since this might be a "Batch" time related problem that I would come back here to my build week group and start the search here, In case anyone from the same build period maybe got faulty battery modules?


On Sep 29 at 8am I took a three minute call from caller ID "Ford Recall" 866-436-7332 that they detected an anomaly and could help schedule service, which I declined because I'm suspicious of cold calls and spoofed caller IDs. They did share #23B57 was the recall campaign ID.

My Truck drove fine for my 80 mile round trip commute & then L2 charge to 80% at home just fine like it always does. And a short trip the next day, Saturday, but did not charge. And it sat idle on Sunday.

The Next Monday Oct 2nd when headed for work. Lightning gave check engine lights. Drove to coffee shop to verify was still drivable. Stopped by dealership around 1600 closing time to get added to schedule for service as soon as 10.09, driving spare car instead of the Lightning. The following day dropped off at dealership. And now is when the fun with my apparently unmotivated service department begins. They said their BEV tech was sick or something. TLDR; Not until Oct 31 was told by a Ford Customer Care rep that the previous week the dealership ordered parts. And then finally on Nov 9th I got the truck back, they had replaced Module #6.

One week later on Nov 16th while charging at home it threw a "Charger Fault" at 56%. My EVSE and home power monitor was able to see that it gradually stepped down the power levels from the normal 9kW in a few discrete steps over about 15 minutes until it stopped and threw this error. So later that same morning I took it back down to the dealership. TLDR; Dec 12th they finally got a diagnosis response from Ford to replace Module #2 and ordered the part. I'm not expecting to get it back before my winter vacation and so hope to pick it up next year...

I'm just wondering if anyone else from this batch has experienced any 23B57 faulty modules like mine has? Now I'll go searching the forums for similar experiences... Would appreciate any links if anyone is aware of similar issues.

I see that you found the active thread in the [Issues...... thread group], very few folks are heading back to their build week thread to relate this problem.

From my 10 mile high perspective, it seems to be a wide variety of production weeks impacted by low quality of battery modules, well outside the production range initially identified after the truck fire event and suspension of production at the Rouge.

Continue sharing in the other thread, maybe folks will post up a details of truck production dates in their signatures, to help identify trends from the forum members going through this issue.
