Wow, the $80k Lariat does not have tilting headrests, and with the seat back somewhat upright, the forward leaning headrest is shoving my head down.

Does anyone know what ICE trim I can retrofit 4 way adjustable headrests from?

My 2021 Lariat had the tilting headrests. I believe they were eliminated for the 2022 model year.

So a 2021 tilting headrest would be the only retrofit option for me? Do you know if the grey leather of the 2022 Lariat was offered last year? Would there be a base part number to start searching for?

It was so bad yesterday that I removed the headrest, which is not safe.

The leather on the 2022 Lightning is unique to it. You'd have to buy complete tilting headrests or the frames and have an upholstery shop fit your current covers to it. Or just buy black ones and see how they look.

Try www.car-part.com. I think leather are the only ones that tilt. You could call the seller up and confirm they tilt. They only came on the Lariat 502A and up.

I am being told I need a VIN to get the right model. Would you mind sharing the last 8 of the VIN for your 21 Lariat?

My reCollection is that the Pro mannequin that I test drove had the tilting headrest for the driver. Unfortunately, it has been a few months.

I got the headrest using your VIN, and in addition to speakers, it looks like there is a tilting mechanism (at least a latch) that the Lightning headrest does not have, but I can't see an actuator. How did you tilt your headrest, and should I assume it tilts forward?

Good news is it looks like the Lightning cover will fit, as it does not come with one. Also, untilted, it is a bit more comfortable, but not much straighter (5 degrees?) than the original headrest.

You pull the headrest forward. There are 3 or 4 stops to it. When you reach the forward most stop the next pull will reset it and it will move all the way back.

Thanks! I don't think there is much if any difference in the most upright position, so back to the drawing board for me. I think I will pull an inch of foam from the front of the original one.

I don't recall if the shape has changed much nor what the mounting post looks like, but Lariats back to 2014 all had the tilting headrests - so I assume all trims above did too. I would think by now there would be tons of these in junk yards.

Someone on the ICE F150 forum put the non-adjustable headrest into a vise (by its posts) and said they were able to bend it into a more comfortable default position.

Wrecking yards wanted to sell only the entire seat!
