The problem is that Trip 1 and Trip 2 don't go past 10k miles. I reset Trip 2 when I bought it, had around 600 miles. I'm over 11k miles now and when I looked at Trip 2 it said 500'ish miles. I recall a few other people have noted that Trip 2 seems to roll over (cap out) at 10k miles.
I roll over 10,000 every 4 months. I tend to track Mi/KWh by season anyway.

Those are great numbers. What is your average speed for your commute? Must be less than 70mph?
Yes, that is key. I travel two lane rural blacktop posted at 25-35-50-55-40-30-40-50 w/55 at 26 miles and 50 at 3 miles. So 39 miles at 50-55. The rest is town mileage.

However, after 2 deer strikes in 5 years and more near misses than I can count, I switched from a 56-58 mph cruising speed to 53 mph. Turns out I’m not the only cruising at 53 mph.

Upshot? My average speed is about 46-47 mph. Tailwinds- headwinds impact speed. Winter rains & driving at night impact speeds.

The truck is amazingly efficient for being a near 4 ton brick that can lay waste in the 1/4 mile to 99% of vehicles.

My average daily cost as per ChargePoint currently about $2.56 for 40 kWh per day. That 40 kWh seems high as the truck says I used ~34 KWh for the distance I drive (90 miles at 2.6 miles/KW). Oh well. The truck is just fabulous and at 85 mpge equivalent.. nothing like it can beat it. And the dealer is less than 20 miles away.

I did a week's worth of routine driving, got 2.8 mi/kWh over 220 miles.

Edit: this includes maybe an hour or so of idling with AC on.

Had a stop before and after my way to work today. Probably could’ve been a bit better if I chose my route better. No AC and windows were open. Mostly 35-45mph. Obviously not a huge distance, but I would’ve been able to maintain or improve if my trip was longer.

I’d suggest two types of high mileage reports:

1) Game the system and crawl around surface streets on a warm day.
2) real world driving say for work: as a commuter, delivery, etc.

1) Game the system and crawl around surface streets on a warm day.
2) real world driving say for work: as a commuter, delivery, etc.
It's not really gaming the system if one's commute is 100% city driving. It's still real world. If we were to break it up, I'd say 3 categories: 100% city, 100% freeway (maybe a min avg speed here?), and mixed.

I keep hearing lowering wheel/tire weight increases range. Also, some say smaller wheels make for taller sidewalls on the tires and that increases range. Here is a YouTube video for a 2023 XLT SR w 18" wheels where he (LightSpeedEV) is averaging up to 2.5miles/kWh going 70 mph.

My XLT w/ 20" wheels is hard pressed to get 2.0miles/kWh. Anyone know if the weight of the 18" wheel/tire combo is that much lighter than the 20" and 22" combo? Or is it the tire sidewall that makes the difference?

Yes, three categories is perfect. My daily commute is 88 miles. Same route every day and so similar that the energy use is within .2 kilowatts on back to back days with air temp, wind and speed being the biggest variables. I can pick a speed say 35, 40, 45, 50, or 55 mph and hold that with the same exceptions: one traffic light, and two stop signs.

In 2,090 miles-2.6 mi/KWh. (2.7 twice!). As winter comes on that will drop and I’m guessing 2.3? as a winter average. Mostly due to modest energy use increases of heated seats, auto defog and windshield wiper (I always precondition in the morning). Putting this in perspective, the MME averaged 3.9-4.1 mi/KWh over the same route.

Iβ€˜ve 200+ pounds of gear in the truck. Maybe I should β€œlighten” upπŸ˜‚.

Interesting idea. Regarding number 2, if we try to narrow down the conditions so everything is perfectly fair, we end up with a standard test no one can replicate and those that do always will get the same answer. It is important to keep in mind, this is not a real competition with no grand prize to win. The idea is for people to be as descriptive as they can about the conditions they used to achieved the numbers they got. Even if someone got a really good number at 80 mph that is record breaking for that speed but not for all speeds, if they tell us how they improved the aerodynamics of the car for example or other tricks they used so others can duplicate it, it is still a win and thread has achieved it’s goal. It is all about us learning from each other and have some fun in the process.

Drive back from camp yesterday. Mostly driving 50-55mph with a few towns where it was 25-35mph. Took about 25% of the battery going from 90%-65%. Trip timer started with the truck running with AC to cool it down for about 10min or so before we left.

Interestingly, FCSP reported 20.57kWh to get back what I drove. If I assume that includes losses and reduce that amount by 10% it puts me right around 3.0 so the truck is (as usual) a little optimistic.
