I said 20 miles round trip. Give me your best number round trip when you end up where you started and then let’s talk ;). On “This trip”. I have gotten 10.2 as well.

Edit: I am sure someone in Colorado is going to come up with a much more impressive number coming down from one of those 14,000 ft peaks. Even though that does not count, it would be fun to see so anyone has any of those downhill numbers, please share.
It was round trip!! I just didn’t hit 20 miles…

20 miles hardly seems enough. Pretty sure I could’ve kept this going for another 8 miles…

That calculates out to 1152 miles of range.
Flat course?

My bad, I assumed most people would shut off the truck at their destination before they come back. And I never thought that kinda numbers is possible round trip even at 11 miles. I stand corrected. Gessometer must need more data to be accurate. I did mention 20 miles as minimum to be reasonable. As you probably noticed my original post was much more than 20. Hopfully we will get more posts with higher mileage.

We leave it on when we grab soft serve.
The meter seems trickable.

Flat course?
The opposite. Lots of little hills with flats that carry momentum. But it dips into a valley and goes uphill which makes you think it’ll even out, but it never does. Consistently get 5+mi/kWh on this route.

My best guess is the amount of time/distance spent at say 1.0mi/kWh just ends up being significantly less than maxing it as say 99mi/kWh while I’m carrying momentum and the trip meter averages it out in a silly way

‘Now that makes me doubt my numbers since my original post trip had a lot of hills and if math gets funky, then my numbers could be wonky too.

Let’s see; One thing that could be more accurate is that I used 67 or 66 percent of my 98 KWh (is that usable?) to go 178 miles. That is a little over 2.7 mi/KWh. So it seems like as you mentioned longer distance should reduce inaccuracies of guessometer math.

Or with an OBDII to measure. 2.7 seems reasonable. My ABRP with OBDII calibrated between 2.6-2.7 mi/KWh at 65mph, and I’ve been using that for several thousand miles now.

How do you drive this route? Mostly constant speed with a lot of energy use going uphill and a lot of regen down hill? Or low energy coming out of and going into battery (going downhill fast and uphill slow)?

It’s really not how I drive it but the terrain. Even that screenshot I wasn’t actively trying to get that, it just happened.

If I had to guess, it’s because my uphills are steep and short. At the top of the uphills are stop signs and I regen to a stop.

From there it goes down hill, rolling drops and flats - like a potato sack slide at the fair - and I coast down it while feathering the pedal. Speeds don’t exceed 40-45mph. (Its a no shoulder, no line back county road with single lane bridges.)

Maybe halfway? On the route you get to the bottom, it gets enough momentum to get me mostly up the next hill and it sort of repeats. On the way back I’m going fast down the steeps and regen and on the rolling flats it’s just consistent pedal pressure.

So I’ve this 31 mile out and back route that is dead flat and I could pull it off with 1 if not no stops (😂). And.. I can cruise it at literally any speed. I’d put my slow speed triangle on the back and place an antenna gizmo in the bed (aka I’m beta testing satellite route planning using an old Direct TV dish) and select D. I don’t recall if cruise works below 20? mph but I’d go say 12-15 mph. 12 is a good target. Pick a 78 degree day. With NW wind in the afternoon. Start at 10 am well before the wind picks up. Make the turn as the wind picks up.. Any bets? We all could pick a weekend and do a nationwide “duck” race or maybe “tortoise“ is better. I could double the distance too though that‘d add in a couple of stops… “California stops..).

That may add to fatality stats on American roads (due to shooting). Number of stops may not make that much difference. In fact it may help if your battery cools down. If you have accessories on, the slower may start hurting at some point more than helping (energy going to heat or AC per mile will increase) but it sounds like you won't be using a lot of that. I am really close what you get. around me, we don't have a lot of flats but when I go to eastern shore of Maryland, I may give this a try.

Looking forward to see your numbers.

We’re a mixture of farms, ranchettes, etc, and..35-45 mph roads. 12 mph is slow though I vaguely recall two Brits that drove a MME 700-800? miles on a charge in the mid 30’s +? I’d likely go 35 mph.

I have a 55 mile round trip commute, in the early spring I was averaging close to 2.8 but right now it's too blooming hot. I'm burning around 16% (ER battery) or about 2.6 with A/C blasting in the afternoon commute. When temps cool off a bit I'll see if I can squeeze closer to 3. I currently do a short stretch on the freeway, usually keep speed to 65, but I can also take a full city route. I haven't tried it yet cuz it takes about 10 min longer and I was happy with my current efficiency.

Unfortunately my lifetime average has gone down a lot. I've made several road trips which pushed it down a fair bit. Just shy of 11k miles, I'm a little late on the 10k service now 😬

Thanks for the report. 2.8 is mighty nice. AZ in summer is no joke. I wouldn’t make my life difficult to keep life time average low but I have learned to enjoy the scenic back roads more than highways. Looking forward to see your post when it gets cooler.
