This is my first post. Took delivery of my 22 Lightning, Lariat, extended range battery in June of 2022. We live in Upstate NY. Loved the truck, but had some minor issues with air dam actuator, that required 3 service visits, and still not fixed. These problems started around 10k miles. Around 19,000 miles the Heat and AC stopped working reliably, and contacted dealer to schedule another service. At the time of the visit, the Frunk button at the hood edge would not work, and passenger side power window would not operate, lane keeper (auto drive) would no longer operate, and active air dam error still showing up. With Summer starting, the AC was kind of important.. Dropped the truck off to Maguire Ford in Canandaigua, NY on June 2nd, 2023. As of today, September 18th, the dealer, and Ford cannot fix the truck. Every possible part of the HVAC was replaced... They claimed, we figured it out, compressor was bad, waiting for compressor... Part finally received and installed by dealer. Sorry, that didnt fix it. More parts ordered..installed, still not working, more parts, etc..

They went right down the line, part, after part, disassembly of the truck, reassembly of the truck, road test, more parts, for three and a half months now. I got ford involved and asked for a buyback, trade it for a new lightning, and they said I had missed that window since I was over 18,000 miles. Ford sent their ford engineers to town to investigate, and still seems to be sitting in the same place, back of the lot, all torn apart. Latest news is that we are waiting for a cooling fan that is on backorder. The dealer (Maguire ford, Canandaigua NY) does not call me, its really become a running joke. Called on Friday, and asked if the part had arrived...placed on hold for 14 minutes, to finally be informed it has not arrived, still on backorder.

I was an early adopter of the Lightning, and feel I've been burned. Loved the truck, but mine was very buggy, and both Ford and the dealership have dropped the ball. I've tried to get Ford to do a buyback, or trade for a different lightning, but they were not willing to discuss. I am pursuing a lemon law claim, as the truck is not able to be repaired at 16-weeks, and at this point I highly doubt the truck will ever be returned in good working condition.

Sounds like a classic lemon law case. Best of luck and sorry to hear about all the turmoil with your truck

Did they at least provide a comparable rental for you during that time free of charge? Can't imagine having to make payments on a truck you can't even use.

I spent 6 weeks in 5 visits. My dealer experience not great.
‘called service advisor to schedule recall & CSP work - waiting to hear back. - doubt call will come.

feel for you.
maryland lemon law is 18k miles or 24 months.

love their telephone survey - what is it? Is ford a company you trust?

I was provided with a gasoling powered F-150. Decent truck, but I'm racking up gasoline charges instead of the free charging offered at my work. Tough to go on family outings without my toolbox and frunk storage to haul family gear, and I've got 3-littles and the Mrs. Thanks for your response.

Contac the BEV team for reimbursement on the Gas, keep every receipt.

This sucks!

We are up to 19 weeks of repair as of Friday. Still no resolution. I stopped at the dealership this morning, and truck had been moved, but still sat in the back lot. The service coordinator said that two techs from Ford came out this week to look at it again, but it was still not repaired. She could not give me any further information on this. Snapped a pic of it sitting in Maguire Ford's lot... I asked if I could have another lightning as a loaner, as the gas is costing me big bucks, but they declined to do this.

You should have started the lemon law process 15 weeks ago. 2nd best time to start it is today.

Thank you. I was hesitant to go the lemon route for the first 2-months, as I generally dislike legal intervention and prefer to handle directly in most cases. However, when Ford corporate basically told me to keep waiting, at 60-days, I did engage with a lemon law lawyer.
So I already started the Lemon process, but in NY I am outside of the parameters for a buyback (18,000 miles). I may be able to settle for a little cash, but nowhere near the value in aggravation, time, fuel, and ongoing expenses of owning a vehicle I don't have possession of. And at this point, neither the dealer or Ford seems very motivated to make this a priority and communicate anything to me.

I took my Lightning to the dealer yesterday for the Wiper Motor Recall, and all the other recalls. Called them first, verified part was in stock. Dropped of the truck. Picked it up 8 hours later only to be told the wrong part was in stock. They now say they ordered all of the parts but I have to reschedule. I don't know why dealers love wasting our time. They really seem to enjoy it.

18k miles is a bullshit number.

And if for whatever reason new York is enforcing that, California does not - it just has to be under warranty. So ... maybe lemon it in CA.

Update - I guess it has to be sold originally in CA. So that ideas out.

Hey @Ford Motor Company, not making the transition for this guy very easy....
