I like the idea of rain sensing wipers but hate the implementation. The wipers rotate between moderate speed and high speed even when the intensity of the rain doesn't change.

I tried turning off rain sensing in the settings and that apparently does nothing as rain sensing still happens with the setting off.

🤔. That an entirely different experience than what I have seen. Mine have been on sense I brought the truck home day one and have worked as I would expect during the few rain falls I’ve allowed my Garage Princess to be out in. 😊

My only complaint is they strike a single swipe when I start the truck regardless of the weather. 🙁

This reminds me of the first car I bought in 1994. It was a 1979 Mercury Capri and the wipers only worked when I punched the inside of the windshield. If the rain was really hard, I had to steer with my knee and throw combinations with both hands. Good times

Maybe something is wrong with my sensor.

Oh but if I turn them off in settings they still sense so something else is wrong.

My experience as well. They're the best rain sensing wipers I've had, but wish they didn't take the initial swipe.

Mine don't do the initial swipe so something really isn't right

Mine do the initial swipe, and work decently well. Sometimes it overwipes in humid, misty conditions. When it's raining raining they work great. Overall a positive, I like them more than I dislike any of their oddities.

Sounds more like intermittent wipers than rain sensing. My rain sensing seems to have gone away after the heated steering wheel update and all I have now is intermittent. The APIM still lets me slide the switch for rain sensing “on” but it doesn’t affect how they work. Also lost my courtesy wipe functionality.

Did you have the hearted steering wheel update done?

No steering wheel update done. I bought this truck three weeks ago and actually haven’t received any updates but that’s a whole different frustration.

Mine are awesome and work when they are supposed too….

On my Tesla it’s a different story, they are atrocious

I’d call the rain sensing just ok. Definitely not industry leading tech.

Believe you can turn off the initial swipe I think that’s the courtesy swipe setting in the wiper menu.

This may be the same problem as yours. When I had the heated steering wheel replaced, my auto-sensing wipes stopped working and functioned like standard intermittent wipers.

I figured out the problem with the auto wipers. There are four modules that must be programmed for them to work.

APIM 7D0-09-04 x3xx-xxxx-xx—
BCM 726-39-02 xxxx-xxxx-01–
IPC 720-02-02 xx8x-xx—
SCCM 724-02-01 xxxx-xC4x- —

My BCM and SCCM were incorrect from above. I just used the easy programming option in FORScan using plain language programming (look for rain sensing) and it fixed it. I think their default program option reset the two modules.
