Those amber lamps are called "Front Identification Lamps" and they are NHTSA mandated for commercial vehicles and vehicles of a certain width. Raptor happens to be wide enough to need them, so was one of the first consumer vehicles to display them. Not really mimicry of the Raptor since there were plenty of other trucks using them already, so I don't think it's treading on toes... https://one.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/standards/conspicuity/TBMpstr.html

EDIT to add: This is interesting, I dug further and the Front Identification lights are supposed to be applied to any vehicle 80 inches wide or wider... guess how wide Lightning is? Exactly 80 inches *with no mirrors on it at all*. Even with the mirrors folded, it's 83.6 inches, so not sure why we DON'T have them! https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/product/2022/f-150-lightning/pdf/F-150_Lightning_Tech_Specs.pdf
Thank you for the information. Had no idea they were a govt requirement. To say the least, I still feel like most others copy the Raptor, especially a Toyota or other smaller truck.

Ugh, so it does have the Raptor-style letters. The seller sent me a pic but I am hesitant to post because of trademark issues (although the seller is in China so might be hard for Ford to do anything about)... The fact that there is no front camera provision is killing me though... I would totally order this in a heartbeat if it had a cutout... Heck, I still might and get out the Dremel. :p

Ordered one. Found a hopefully elegant solution to the camera issue. Gonna take some slight modifications but sourced all the little bits and pieces from a Raptor to make it work. I can post the process once everything arrives.

I'm interested to see what your parts list looks like. I think I can make it work with just this bracket, which I believe is already integral to the emblem... good luck!

That is the exact bracket that the components are mounted to behind the emblem.

My attempt will be using the Raptor mounting system as mounting the bracket we have will be hard with the sprayer location. The Raptor has a simple housing that holds the camera with a fixed sprayer that sits directly about the camera

Nice solution, I will be following to see if that works better, the finish might work better than trying to integrate the popout sprayer, Do you mind sharing the part number for the sprayer head replacement so I don't have to go digging please? I did see that bracket in my search as well but hadn't considered swapping the sprayer head as well... thanks!

I’m 99% sure this is the exact part and will know when everything arrives but it took a lot more work than I thought to track these darn Things. One thing I do know will be an issue is that our camera uses a 90* plug and this bracket is made for a 45* plug so some Dremel work will be required but should be pretty simple

Keep up the excellent documentation! I am sure several of us are interested in the final results! I gotta go back and read up on how to add the light bar to a pro so I can also have a fancy grille.

Don’t think of it as a “Fake Raptor” think of it as the Next Gen E-Raptor 👍🏻

Says it comes with or without Letters.

Not sure I’ld pull the trigger on this one either. It comes with FRDO letters, I’ld rather have one that spells FORD…🤣😂

I believe the lettering is removable and can be switched around because of licensing reasons.

For the price, I can always slap my factory one back on super easy to swap. Considering replacements from ford range from $800-$1500 depending on the trim level 🤮
