Does anyone know if the Ford Pass App miles is adjusted for cold weather battery degradation? For example, if it says 218 mile available is that for the current temperature adjusted for battery degradation or am I supposed to guess how far the truck will really go?

If you're at a higher state of charge, without a route planned in the navigation, it's a guess. I started off this morning at 90% charged, 280-ish miles of estimated range. Drove 50 miles to work and it went down to about 180. Drove 50 miles home, and ended with about 45 miles estimated.

The 45 miles, using the percentage left in the battery and efficiency, was pretty spot on.

yup, so it is a guess as I thought and as you have experienced. I too have been shocked when I go through what you just described. Your degradation is about 50%. So, what you are alleging is if the truck has a destination in the navigation, then it would show the miles with degradation included? How did you find this out? I wonder if Ford knows this, for this is quite unacceptable!

In the beginning, the DTE was more realistic. In weather like this, I would charge to 90% and the DTE was around 195 miles. I would do my 100 mile commute and get home with about 85 miles remaining. The people that don't understand electric vehicles complained to Ford so much, about possibly having the wrong or defective battery, that they changed the DTE calculation in an OTA and emulated Tesla to give us a placebo after every charge.

Today was probably the coldest, windiest day, I've used my truck in. I also went a little faster than I normally would on the expressway because I just wanted to get home. That is why my DTE today after my commute is so bad.

My main problem is my truck has not received an OTA download since July 2023 for no legitimate reason at all. Ford says my vin# is not in the queue for an update even though I have verified that I am waiting for at least 6 OTA updates.

so when you say "in weather like this" your 90% will only be 195. So that tells me that Ford has included battery degradation in the 195 DTE. Otherwise, with a 90% limit you should get 288.

only use Miles/Kwh NUMBER times the Battery PERCENTAGE to arrive at your 'true' miles-to-empty conversion.... Miles/Kwh, though, is also not 'exact', as nothing with any EV is 'exact' when it comes to guaranteeing what you will ACTUALLY receive - there are TOO MANY FACTORS: wind, speed, terrain, weight, etc.

I average 2.5 mi/kwh and that's ALL I ever use to 'calculate' true miles/range... I do NOT use the 'guess-o-meter'...or the 'range-o-meter'...or the 'Nav-o-meter'.... they will never be correct, exactly, or most of the time, anywhere even near your own calculations. My Nav will calculate 2.0mi/kwh, which is WAY underestimating my actual range I receive. The 'regular' guess-o-meter is hardly better.

That's the problem. After the DTE OTA, it doesn't show 198 miles when I charge during the winter. It shows 280.

The navigation will at least take into consideration the speed on the route. I haven't used it during cold weather to see if it takes current conditions into account.

So, what did the DTE OTA actually accomplish if it is so far off from reality?

You use the word "degradation" improperly. There is no degradation.

The GOM in the vehicle projects range, and refines that when a destination is put in. It has nothing to do with FordPass that you mentioned.

Ford has attempted to make the GOM more intelligent, but it defaulting to a near perfect number at times is not helping.

I was just referring to the estimated range after charging the Ford Pass App shows (Estimated Distance to Empty)

My app shows updated GOM based on temperature.
