What's Your 2024 Lightning Order Status?

Not at all LOL, but from experiences of MY22 & MY23, there was a bit of a delay getting the initial run of new model year vehicles rolling to dealerships

I see! That puts it into context. This is still within the limits of normal MY delay… For the Lightning at least.
And maybe Ford also wants to clear MY23’s from lots before shipping MY24’s.

- Ford secretly updated the charge port to NACS for 2024 so they want to make sure most of the 23s are out of dealer inventory before the drop.
- Problems with the new heat pump: software, supply chain, performance.
- waiting until “truck month” so they can promote how well Lightnings and F150s are selling

I hope not - that’s one of the best reasons to get the MY24 in Canada (and also the fact that you can’t get a MY23 Pro anywhere)

Yes I'm more optimistic than that, they are all going to have NACS port and cant release untill the software is ready to go to charge them.

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for helping out. I have a question about 2024 order status. I placed an order with a dealer in Colorado on October 4 but I have not received any information from them regarding a vin or an order number. I followed up with them a few days ago and they said that they still have nothing.

I see that other people on this forum have placed orders after my order date and they have Information on Ford’s website about their production status. How do I get that information? Is it possible that my order was never placed? Do I need the vin and order number?

The sales person I have been working with doesn’t inspire confidence and im
worried that the order was never placed. I signed an order and gave them a deposit, but I never received any kind of order confirmation.

Your only resource is the dealership, and possibly customer service at the Ford Motor Company.

If your build order has not been selected yet, then you do not have a VIN assignment yet.

I’m not sure how it works, but I would think if your dealer entered your order into the system, they would at least have an order number.
You need an order number and a VIN to use Ford’s online order status website. But to be honest, based on my own experience with it, I don’t put a lot of faith in its accuracy.
I actually got my order number and VIN off the window sticker while the dealer had the vehicle posted on their website. It’s not there anymore.

VIN's are assigned to an approved build once the factory determines a build week (not a blend day).

You will know when an order has been assigned a build week from the online tracker personal order page, the problem though is all MY24 orders appear to have been made in person at dealerships.

Orders at dealerships don't have a seven digit order number, but you should have a four digit WBDO order code as found on the order confirmation printout which a dealer can provide to you.

Eventually the order will be assigned a build week, just check in weekly with your salesman, typically Fridays.

Once you have a VIN & WBDO order code, you can (should) see your sticker once it's assigned a blend day, add your VIN to the right of the equal sign in the URL address bar after it fails https://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=

Haha either way you'd have to buy an adapter to charge on CCS because you still can't a Ford on superchargers.....

I'm aware but if you look at the post I replied to the other poster was implying that Ford was going to install NACS ports on 24MY when it was clearly stated that won't happen until 25MY and if they did (which they won't) install NACS ports they couldn't charge on a NACS port so they would have to use a CCS adapter to charge their NACS port to CCS
